Money always money and to this day the press call the illegal immigrants 'migrants' they are not they are illegals immigrants they arrived illegally simple as that.

Staying in Turkey the first point of asylum is more or less legal walking across 4 countries to get to either Germany or UK via a truck isn't. But the press still to this day calls them migrants.

The guy who sits next to Me in work is from Madrid he moved here legally as he's an EU citizen therefore, He's a migrant.

My brother moved to Canada 10 years ago by going through the legal procedure of aquiring points through his work, learning French and off of his wifes job. They just managed to get a enough points He's a migrant in Canada. He did it legally.

Just getting on a boat and turning up a lampudesa or palermo doesn't make you a migrant.  No matter what the ngos think or got paid to do with their taxi service to and from Libya to Italy.

The Turkish kids father was working in Bodrum in Turkey.  It was a safe place (easyjet fly there for god sake) there was absolutely no need to for his family to risk the kids life to get to Germany. You cant just pick and choose where you want to live..

Back to Syria, I enjoyed the Al jezera article though thanks for that

He was meant to be gone by now..

The US is only one of a long, looooooooooooong list of of players whose lives might be made simpler by Assad being gone.

But does the US really want him gone at this point?

The answer is likely both yes and no, in the same way that Saddam was yes and no until the cajoling failed and the spinning wheel stopped at yes, and that yes went through Kuwait and was aimed at Saudi Arabia and the world's oil supply.

Obama made clear he didn't honestly want to touch the area with a ten foot pole unless he had too. (No american boots on the ground) and for those who might forget the history, plans to effectively arm the rebels caused the opposition party to completely freak.

Faced with the option of doing something that changed nothing, he essentially walked away, which was likely the smart but perhaps not the best of his available options.

Now Trump doesn't want to be over there either; especially now that the Russians have used the time to dig in so deeply that doing just about anything risks escalation. Beyond that, the question is, what would replace Assad if he was gone, and the answer is probably nothing good and possibly something worse, especially for stability in the region, which is a primary goal.

It's a complex situation that doesn't really receive justice from a soundbite.

The end though is that he pretty much has a free hand unless he pulls out the chemical weapons. There will be worldwide support to slap him around, every single time he does so. Even when it doesn't really change anything over there.

(A lot of the offending equipment was moved to civilian areas they knew we probably wouldn't attack, before we even struck. Too bad for them, you can't move buildings)

I don’t follow anything you’re trying to say there. Conspiracy theories make for great movies, but real life events usually end up being results of mere misunderstanding, miscommunication, stupidity, ignorance, arrogance, pride, or laziness. Trying to apply some of these conspiracy theories to recent events in Syria seem to stretch even incredulity. To me, it simply seems obvious that Trump’s statements about pulling all out of Syria gave Assad carte blanche to do whatever he pleased against the remnants of the rebels. If you can’t tell it in one sentence, it ain’t the truth.

oh, I think everyone is right, here ....I'm reminded of a passage in one of Mitch Alblom's books, the one with the debate between the priest and rabbi.

My school of thought:

-Guns Germs and Steel

cool thread, btw

"So your counteroffer is a Russian propaganda network and a conspiracy website?"

Michael Rivero lives in Hawaii, is an American, searching for truth and enjoys flight simulators like all of us.
Quoting false information about Michael, without knowing or talking with him is rather shallow, let's use the new term, fake news.  Call into his live radio show or visit WRH and get to know him....He has a wealth of information.

Michael Rivero on "All wars are Banker wars".

OK, so the CIA started using the word "conspiracy theories" after the JFK assassination to sway the public from thinking critically.  Name calling like "Tin Foil hat" also works well to discredit other viewpoints.  People that parrot such words, are often victims of their Governments propaganda and don't even know it.  The German people in WWII were propagandized by Government and media.  Didn't work out so well....

All media are biased to their home country, no surprise there.
Governments use media to control their narrative, to create your perception of reality of the world.
If the people of a nation don't support the Governments narrative, they've got big problem....

RT.com is funded by Russia, CNN is funded by US corporations (influenced by the CIA), your point being what?  They're biased in their reporting? Of course they are, but that should not stop you from reading their viewpoint.  It's a shame Ron Paul or Senator Richard Black can't speak with the "free press" about Syria on CNN, CBC or the BBC. Maybe it doesn't fit the Governments narrative?

"I guess if one throws around enough allegations, tailored with omissions of relevant details and leavened with a barbs of truth, somebody will eventually swallow the whole thing".

I agree, be skeptical of all media, always read both sides of a story and think for yourself.
To be afraid of reading the other "bogie man's" news (RT.com) or views is simply ridiculous.

Media hides topics they don't want people to know about by omission or never talking about it.
False Flags is one such topic that is never talked about in Western Media, which is why people don't understand what they are and how they're used.
False flags are real - US has a long history of lying to start wars.

The False Flag article at RT.com will be biased, but media sharing such a concept makes you think, What false flags did Russia ever use?

One can read articles such as "False Flags" or 911 and can do one of the following:
a) Sit there and scream "Russian collusion", "Conspiracy Theories" or "Tin Foil Hat".
b) Read up on the subject, search for more information and then accept or reject it.
c) Find it so disturbing that it can't be true, just do nothing or turn it off. (cognitive dissonance).

More and more people are waking up to the fact their media and Government are lying to them.

Listen to Christian Pastor Rick Wiles on the Syrian False flag.

Creatures from Jekyll island is an excellent book to read.
The Federal Reserve is a private bank which controls the US economy.
In 1913 the bankers created the Federal Reserve, naming it "Federal" to fool the people into thinking it's part of the Government.  The Federal Reserve is no more "federal" than Federal Express (FedEx).

The Federal Reserve and how all Western Nations are kept in perpetual debt based on this ponzi scheme.  Ron Paul speaks at the very end of the documentary who wanted to audit the Federal Reserve, but couldn't, because it's a private bank.

"Federal" means what?
"Social media" which is making people less social, should really be labled "Unsocial media".
"National Defense" is now actually "National offence".
Get the idea, words are often used to fool you.

When words such as "Conspiracy Theories", "Tin Foil Hat" or "Russian collusion" are used to mock others, it simply means, their reality of the world is different than yours.
Who has created your reality?  You or the Media?

Live in the reality that makes you comfortable, but you may be living in a delusion......but aren't we all?

The point being there is a plethora of media in the west that are all allowed to have their say. Including the conspiracy sites you apparently frequent. When the time comes when you can point me to a similar number of media in Russia that is allowed to be critical of their wars, leadership and etc, then I'll take you a bit more seriously. Also, when their reporters, opposition media, and targeted defectors show less of a strange proclivity to end up jailed or dead.

Otherwise i'm going to continue to view all this right up there with the great pumpkin.

So how do you know about it? Your statement is logically unsound.

Is this a great revelation? Something hidden that nobody knew about? Only if one somehow misses about a zillion articles and videos detailing pretty much the entire history, which are available to anyone curious enough to take about three seconds to look.

Sorry. Not nefarious.

No, to me it means that there are enough obvious logical holes (big enough to toss the death star through) in a presented argument that rational conversation at a certain point becomes nearly impossible. Is the US government angelic? Nope. Have dubious and illegal things been done? You betcha. Are there shady characters/actors doing their best to manipulate things? (on all sides)

Sure.

The problem is you will find that everywhere. Humans are simply like that, and there's no sign that the species has changed much in the last few thousand years or is ever going to do so. Everything conspiracy theorists scream about (hopefully within the bounds of sanity) as far as politics can pretty much be found eventually in any large organization/government in the world. (look up the Iron law of oligarchy)

The important thing to me is the patterns in the general sweep of history. So far, western civilization, if not necessarily capitalism, has shown a trend towards liberty, health and general prosperity greater than at any other time.... ever. Yes, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance etc, but for now at least, our institutions are strong and generally work, (though they're constantly at risk) and the people still have a powerful say in the shape and direction of their own governance.

Contrast that to the alternatives, generally characterized by effectively if not theoretically single party political systems, weak institutions, rubber-stamp legislation, state control of media, pervasive bribery-corruption-nepotism, lifetime rule, internationally condemned "election" practices.....

And the simple fact that you are known by the company you keep as well as by their actions (Assad?)

Put it all together and I personally see nothing particularly attractive in either your arguments or your preferences in propaganda.

However!

You live in a free country (I assume) and thus are perfectly within your protected rights to pursue your beliefs and agenda. So good luck with that.

This is my point.....

a) Watch your MSM media (don't care where you live).
b) Drink the cool-aid MSM media has poured into your glass. (Don't swallow it).
c) Spit that cool-aid back into the glass.
d) Search for the same cool-aid and taste it using books or the internet that offer a different flavor.
e) Swallow cool-aid that tastes the best (makes the most sense).
f) If all cool-aid tastes the same, pour it out and go have a beer.

History - "His" "Story", who's story?

The victor writes history and those who write the history control the future.
Relaying on historic events as fact and truth, is flawed thinking.

Wipe your slate clean, pour the cool-air out, and start unlearning everything you've been thought or trusted as truth and research it yourself.

Is Capitalism is the greatest?  I haven't found one "ism" that works the "best".
Capitalism, Socialism, Fascism, Communism are all plutocracies (society ruled by the wealthy) and all share collectivism (the group is more important than the individual).  All Capitalist societies turn Fascistic over time.

G Edward Griffin - author of "The creature from Jekyll Island" talks about Collectivism

Greg Hunter who worked for CNN, was fired when he wanted to report on the housing bubble BEFORE the 2007/2008 financial crisis.
Journalists don't have free speech who are employed by these corporations.
Is risking you're job worth spreading the truth?  Most don't.
Those who control the "money" control you.

I'm amazed that this thread has lasted this long. BTW, Greg Hunter was not fired by CNN. His contract was up and the decision to leave was mutual. But "fired" sounds a whole lot better when one wears a tinfoil hat.

Political discussions are okay as long as members stay away from offensive comments like insinuating one wears a tinfoil hat.  Can't political sides communicate without inciting comments and "fair and balanced comments".  I guess not so I am going to close this before any more name calling or making fun of fellow members because one does not fully agree with everything said.  I thought 3Green provided an excellent post with some evidence and no name calling.

Topic reluctantly locked...
