Headset recommendation

Recommended Posts

Could something like a TrackClip Pro, TrackHat, or other head-tracking item attach to either one of the linked headsets without issue?

(I don't like wearing a hat while on sim, and would rather hook the IR device to a headset)

Many good headsets. Get a USB headset and try it on if you can, before buying. Comfort is very important.

$48.99 Best headset for the money.  Been using it for two years with a track-pro and VOX with no problems.  4.6 out of 5.0 rating by 667 purchasers.  Can't go wrong with them.

Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.

I use a Razer Kraken 7.1 On-Ear Headset - Black for the last several years works great have attached track ir  clip to it.  I since changed from a track IR clip to one made by a gentleman from Europe called track hat.  I will be changing to his newest on which is wireless.

I have the first version. I think they call them the cloud core now. Great sound and excellent mike. Going on three yrs now. I got them because they remind me of David Clark H10s but in black.

I use a pair of Dave Clarkes H10 from ebay with the track IR modified to clip permanently to the headset.Changed the helicopter cord to a general GA cord which allowed the headset to be in stereo without having to rewire the headset. Cant get any more real than that.

I take a slightly different approach. I don't mind the IR hat so perhaps my suggestion is irrelevant, but I love wireless so I actually use a Jabra Stealth bluetooth piece for ATC comms. Works like a charm and is super light.

I use the Steelseries Arctic 5. Comfortable headband you can wear for hours. High quality sound including decent mic and you get a chat/mix dongle that allows you to adjust the volume of background audio versus voice.

You dont mention whether your preference is wired or wireless.

The recommendation above is wired USB. If you prefer wireless and you have the budget,  then the Arctis Nova 7 wireless would be my choice today, but they are a tad on the expensive side.

Those with wired headsets, how do you do for preventing frayed wires? I use them for my job; they are comfortable, but've broken 3 in the last two years, all because of the same reason: frayed wires.
