Yet another when airline passengers go wild

Recommended Posts

What drives people to behave like this? If alcohol is involved (the article doesn't say) maybe it's time to consider banning alcohol on flights as well as airports just as smoking was. She was sitting next to a US Air Marshal. Was she a prisoner being escorted by the marshals? Again the article doesn't say. However. it states the air marshal escorted her to the bathroom multiple times.

Is something that i never understood, so many concerns with safety and alcohol is allowed, i already saw in first person 3 guys completely drunk in a flight and was so close to escalate to a very bad situation.

Alcohol, men and women, and high cabin altitude, is a deadly combination, not to mention many of these nut cases take other meds that clearly warn the user not to mix with alcohol.  When I was departing a twin aisle jet in Atlanta, a man in the other aisle started to yell and curse at an older woman who could not move quickly, who was holding up the line (O'tooles Observation: the other line moves faster....).  I swear to this day, had I a Glock or been an air marshal I would have shot the guy with point blank in the forehead for spilling his venom at the poor woman.  No man had better attack a woman or lay a touch on a woman or interfere with an argument between a man and a woman when I am around.  I followed the word not allowed as he was chasing down the older woman just to perform more invective on her.  The other passengers who saw this did nothing other than mumble under their voices, other than one other man who had the courage to speak up.....

The frustrating part for myself and the crew, often times, these people get a simple slap on the wrist, yet they cause massive disruption to the lives of the passengers and crew. Sadly, our justice system is no longer always about doling out justice. I've had to have 2 people removed so far from one of my flights this year... Sad...

Unfortunately product liability doesn't apply to booze producers or their venues. Too much money going around to the law makers and lawyers.

I wish they would tax their eye balls out to help compensate victims and society for misery and wrecked lives caused by their slop.

Are you sure that you don't have an anger management issue?

This is not an isolated case.  It has invaded law enforcement, supermarket shoppers, schools, politics, and even churches.  It's permissiveness, in-your-face protecting my imagined rights, plain rudeness and, mostly, a lack of self discipline.  Failure to listen to each other is another factor.  The anonymity of social media lets the inner dragons out.  The fast pace of modern life and long work weeks contribute.  We have become a stressed out society.

The age of civility is a bye-gone era.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

One of the great things about not flying self-loading cargo is I didn't have to deal with these type issues.

It boggles my mind how anyone could want to defend booze (regardless of whether or not it was involved). There is no question regarding its effects on mind and body. The so called benefits of beer don't outweigh the destructive effects. There are also better ways to get the benefits of red wine without the ethanol.

Bottom line, the only place for ethanol is on a swab, in a lab, or a fuel tank.

Well, let's go back to prohibitionism. Last time worked wonders, right?

The only thing that actually works is a change of the human heart.

On prohibition my theory is the reason it didn't work is the same reason the war on drugs is a failure. There is too much money trickling up to people in high places on the national state and local levels. Politicians, judges, and lawyers don't want to see the cash cow dry up in spite of lofty platitudes spoken for public consumption.

Alcohol should not be served on airlines nor sporting events.  The former is a potential hazard and the latter there are families and children present.

Disagree. On the hundreds of flights over the last 30 years I never saw one single incident . Why should we all have to pay the price for a handful of idiots..besides I need my 5 beers to get to sleep
