FSX? What's that? Gave up the old 32 bit OOM beast as soon at P3Dv4 came out.

Flight Simulator X but microsoft, from what i’ve heard advise using it

I guess with June 9 he is referring to the Flight Sim Expo in LV and the announcement PMDG made yesterday that they unveil a brand new product series. Guess some are expecting a new flightsim will be announced and therefor to wait with buying a new Sim.

Agree with most here, FSX is a dead product with no new development, you'd be buying a 10+ year old product that is frozen in time and always will be.

Prepar3D at least, makes improvements on a yearly basis and incorporates new features, faster code, and more stability.

Go Prepar3D if starting from scratch, absolutely (realizing your asking for opinions on a Prepar3D forum, of course).

Oh please no. I JUST finished making the switch from FSX to P3D over this past year and my wallet is still recovering.

I looked at this thread because I always have the same question.

All of what has been said about FSX boxed is true. Drove me up the wall.

Ever since I switched to FSX SE, darn near 100% reliable.

Kind of OT because I am already an FSX SE happy camper, but thought I would comment just for the sake of balance.

Maybe one day I will "upgrade". But probably not today.

Most developers including myself are not developing for FSX anymore, although is a wonderful platform sadly it has come to it's end of life.

Best Regards,
