Can VR be used in a recliner chair

Featured Replies

I have my sim set up around a lazy boy type recliner, very comfortable for long flights. My question is can a VR headset be used in a semi reclined position? not reclined all the way but probably around the 30% position.

I can't think of any reason why not, as long as the sensors can see the headset

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Ok thanks .I just found out the sensors can be mounted on tripods as well so that will give a better angle as I dont have a desk but tables either side of my chair.

Another question. Do you use throttle hardware or  do you grab the one in the VR cockpit

By the long flights you mention I presume you’re doing long haul stuff.

i fly my real world long haul jet with the seat reclined about 30 degrees and feet up on the foot rests, so you would in fact be in a quite realistic position!

I’m writing this now on my iPad while sat in my own lazyboy recliner, very comfy aren’t they, much comfier than a flight deck seat that’s for sure. Try inserting a sheet of plywood under your butt for ultimate in long haul realism!

cheers

Yes mostly long haul and I couldn't go back to an office chair again. I think I will give the plywood a miss lol

If you ewar glasses, long haul flights are not a real possibility.  Oculus Rift pushes glasses into your face, and it becomes painful after about a half hour, and sometimes less.  It is possible to purchase prescriptoin lenses which go into the Oculus.
