Unable to run AS2016

Recommended Posts

Not sure what's going on here. Some time ago I purchased an "Upgraded version" of Active Sky 2016. It has worked fine all this time. However, I had to uninstall and reinstall it. It installs fine but when I try to launch the program it errors: Anyone knows why this is happening?  (Windows 10 64bit, P3D Academic 4.1.7., Intel 7700K )

" A critical error has occurred in this application. Further  program operation is not possible>"

Hi Joe, AS2016 will not work in 64bit P3D. You need ASP4. Have you installed the wrong one, I am guessing you have ASP4 ?

Ahh, yes I just realize that.

Hmm, but now it's saying that my XML at USers\may name\Appdata/Romaing\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d V4\exe.xml could not be verified.

Sounds like a header error, paste this in Joe, using Notepad +

Hi ZKOKQ, I fixed it. I deleted both XML files under appdata\roaming\Lockheed Martin\..  and P3D rebuilt them automatically. Issues has been resolved.

I  want to thank you for your sincere assistance with my question.

Have a great week.

P3D will not rebuild this one as it is not the default dll.xml.  Only the one in the same folder as the scenery.cfg will be rebuilt as it is the new default.  You also have an old version of P3D (V4.1) which has bugs and there's a free update to the latest version at Lockheed.  Just need to uninstall/reinstall the Client.  It will not affect addons.
