767 Taxi Issues

Hi everyone,

I posted a question a while back on the Level D 767 forums and no one replied so I figured I'd do it here so some people actually might have a chance of seeing it.

I've been having thrust issues with my Level D 767 on P3D v3, with 40-50% N1 required to get the aircraft moving with light weights (130t TOW doing shorthaul BA ops). I've had a read on their forums and there was a mention of a 'sim1.dll' fix which would enable the aircraft to taxi much easier with less thrust, which is more realistic. Videos on YT etc have shown that a 767 as light as the ones I fly only need about 10% above idle to get moving comfortably.

This sim1.dll is apparently on these forums but after browsing extensively here and also on the 767 forums and the avsim library, I cannot find this much-needed fix.

Do any of you happen to know where this dll could be?

Hello flemon!

I'm very far for being a specialist but did you try the file name "dynamic friction" of FSUIPC. I guess of course you have FSUIPC(free version is ok for that)installed in your P3D. If so inside FSUIPC documents folder(in the modules folder of P3D)is a zip named "Example LUA plugins", extract it in a folder with the same name as the zip. In this folder is a file "dynamic friction", place it in the modules folder directly. It should help for taxiing. Maybe somebody with a far better knowledge than me will help you in a better way😉

I forgot to say that you have to add:

[Auto]

1=Lua DynamicFriction

at your Prepar3D config located in User/your name/AppData/Roaming/LockeedMartin/P3D

Unfortunately it didn't make much of a difference. 767 still needed about 50% N1 to maintain 15 knots whilst taxiing out to depart for Stockholm this evening.

If anyone knew where this sim1.dll was, it would be very helpful.

Sorry for you, don't know what could be your problem, I tried to taxy my Level D 767 with a light weight like you, I needed 30-33% N1 to launch the plane and after it taxied with 24%. Of course your calibration axis is Ok ? I hope you will find a solution

It could well be a problem with my calibration axis. How would you suggest sorting this out? Reinstall drivers for my Saitek pro flight yoke?

Hi flemon!

Is it the only plane affected? If it is not the only one but all your planes are difficult to taxy, first before reinstalling your Saitek drivers you should look at the calibration in the control options of P3D(and also be sure there is no double entry for the brakes in the options). If this doesn't help then you I'm afraid you have no other solution but reinstall the drivers.
