June 30, 200619 yr I cannot seem to move a 3d view to a second monitor. I am using an asus A8N-SLI with 2 nVidia 7900GT pcie cards. (my wife has not seen the bill for this yet) I am NOT using SLI mode. The monitor configuration is dualview. I have one monitor hooked up to each of the dual head cards. I can move the 3d view in windowed mode, but the view pops back to the main monitor when I switch to full screen mode. When in full screen mode, the 3d view will not undock, nor will it move to the second monitor. I can move 2d views to the second monitor with no problems. I have read many posts indicating that people are viewing a second 3d view in multimonitor mode. Can his be done in full screen mode?BJ
July 2, 200619 yr do you mean a very different view or spanning your vc?http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=hardw
July 3, 200619 yr I would like to move a different view to a second monitor in full screen mode. I would like to use the open bracket key "[" to open a new cockpit view, change the view to look out the left window, then move the view to a second monitor on my left. I can do this in windowed mode. It just does not work in full screen mode. Surely someone out there is doing this.BJ
July 4, 200619 yr BJ,I tried to do this several months ago. I quit. Couldn't do it.Apparently some people can but how ? Roger See my specs in my profile
July 4, 200619 yr I have a suspicion it is a Nvidia driver problem. I can do it fine on my older machine, but the new machine with the Nvidia 7900 GTX card wont.
July 11, 200619 yr There is a thread on Simviation that covers thishttp://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaB...;num=1150984690Look for "Two LCD Monitors"You need to set your displays to SPAN mode. When you next start FS2004 it will detect your Graphics card setting and when you go into SETTINGS - HARDWARE and check the available screen resolutions you will get options like: 1600x600x32, 2048x768x32 up to 3200x1200x32 (or something similar)Choose one of these 'double width' options You will then be able to span both screens in Full Screen Mode.RegardsJim
July 11, 200619 yr If you are in "Twin View" or "Dual Display" mode you can only have one full screen desktop. ATI or NVidia. If you are in span mode, depending on the game you will either span both monitors or one will shut down (if the res is not supported) while the other is full screen. The only way to do what you want is to:Exit horrizontal span mode and go into twinview or whatever it is the ATI equivalent is called. Then in the sim type 'alt-enter' to bring it into window mode...maximize the main view (not restore to full screen) ...open a new 3d view... drag it to the other desktop...then resize like a normal window to fit the other screen. Pan and zoom will be independant of each other. In horizontal span mode, pan and zoom are (poorly) linked.CheersShad
