Will 747-8 FMC calculate green decel point for the approach like in 737NGX?

Will 747-8 FMC calculate green decel point displayed on the ND for the approach like in 737NGX?

Many thanks,

Mark.

Pretty sure that it does 🙂 It would be quite similar to the 777.

Thanks for the reply but the 777 does not calculate a decel point for the approach nor does the 747-400.

The 747-8 indeed does not have identifiers for decel points on the ND. It does have some VNAV speed indication on the PFD speed tape indicating acceptable speed range for the current calculated VNAV path. Not sure if that is an option or a standard feature.

It actually does interestingly. In addition to tod and 10k decel markers we're used to, it will also show additional deceleration markers (fmc speed contraints) and additional tod markers from fmc forecasted level segments. It will also show flap profile points at optimum points along the path for flaps up through to flap 20, with flaps 20 being placed at the FAF of the fmc loaded approach procedure.

This is standard on 747-8 in addition to the vnav speed band you reference.

Will the PMDG 747-8 have this? I don't know. But they've built an efb and updated cockpit instruments. If they've gone so far as to do all that, I wouldn't be surprised if they revised the fmc and ids to reflect real 747-8 configuration.

Will the PMDG 748 show the green decel point and flap profile points as described by Copper above?

Thanks.
