only 5 airports available on p3d, getting ctd when try to spawn...

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Recently, I haven't been able to fly, due to multiple reasons.

Firstly, whenever I open P3D (version 4.2.21.24048) I seem to be only getting 4-5 airports plus 'ignore' which is strange. I have been told to attempt to spawn and then try and access the add-on library to find out the cause, but have been greeted with multiple CTDs, coming from atc.dll errors as well as terrain.dll and api.dll errors, as well as fsuipc5.dll_unloaded errors. Below is a screenshot of what airports I get, even though I cannot access any of them, bear in mind the airports that are there are payware but do not include all my payware sceneries...

According to the AVSIM CTD Guide:

ATC.dll -

  • It occurs on a change of frequency (TWR to GND for example) and is associated with other frequencies used in your plan. Try entering removeatc=yes in the General section of FSUIPC.INI.
  • There are minor issues where the file atc.dll, responsible for containing the viewing graphics display during game play, encounters errors in displaying multiple image streams, especially when it renders multiple overlays. If you have multiple displays and/or multiple Windows open, there is probably a conflict or problem with the configuration.

The API.dll indicates you have a scenery or aircraft installed that is not compatible with P3DV4.2 or improperly installed.

Since you are only getting 4-5 airports showing up, there is something wrong with your scenery.cfg so delete it and it will be rebuilt.  For add-on scenery, you should be using the Lorby_Si Addon Organizer.  Are the 4 sceneries showing up Add-ons or the default?

Yep, deleted the Scenery.cfg file and that managed to solve it, however, another problem has occurred where the ocean is covered with land, any ideas?

Thanks,

Abdulla

Believe this is caused by the program UTX.  Disable/enable that program.

How do you disable/enable UTX?

When you installed UTX, it placed an icon on your desktop.  Double-click this icon and it should then show you the status of the installation (Enabled or Disabled).  If it is disabled, enable.  If Enabled, disable.  In the menu item at the top of the utility there should be a dropdown menu.  Click on Terrain and it will give you the option to enable or disable UTX.

Since FTX Global competes with UTX, this is a possibility.  Sounds like FTX Global toasted your installation of FSX.  First it destroyed the scenery.cfg and now FTX Global.

If I delete my textures.cfg, will it rebuild, I've seen many suggestions to do so.

You can try though by renaming it to texture.cfg.off, restarting and see what happens.  In the AVSIM CTD Guide, they recommend you delete and rebuild your facilities, scenery indexes, and shaders folder.  Facilities/scenery indexes are in the same folder as scenery.cfg.  The shader folder is in AppData/Local/Microsoft/FSX folder.
