Flight Plan Trainer

Recommended Posts

I wonder if the Flight Plan Trainer's exercices remain in the main speech recognition database profile or if it's like creating a specific recognition profile for each flight training? In other word does VoxATC (via windows speech recognition engine) learn from previous flights ?

It isn't VOXATC that does the learning. It's the built-in Windows speech recognition that you are training, just with words that are specific to each flight plan,. So with every training session, the Windows speech recognition gets better and better.. If you look in your main VOXATC folder, you will see 11 xml files that begin with either IFR or VFR. These are the templates that VOXATC uses to construct the speech recognition file  that Windows uses to improve the speech recognition for a given set of ATC phrases.

A lot of factors impact the efficiency of Windows speech recognition, not the least of which are the clarity of one's diction and the quality of the microphone. For the longest time with both P2ATC and VOXATC, I was having trouble with the SR. Then I realized two problems. My microphone was a piece of junk and there was too much background noise.
