Framerate Mess- Sudden Change

Did you install the novel nVidia driver on top of the old one or did you select "new installation"? If you did the latter, check that your nVidia driver settings are the same as before. Then: make sure that none of the Windows Updates changed your settings regarding the Windows 10 game mode. BTW: what Hz number does your monitor run with when using P3D?

Nothing is running in the background as far as windows 10 game mode.

P3d is all I have installed at the moment.

Not experiencing the same issue as you, have done two flights from KSTS to KMRY in the Alabeo P31, frame rates were as normal for me , set at 30, and recorded 23-29 . I did  down load and install drivers 398.11 before the update, this was done thro' Geforce Experience.

It may be worth trying downloading the drivers direct from Nvidia , carry out a 'custom' install and click on ' clean install'.

I've got the same driver version installed through geforce experience as well.

sorry I didn't get back sooner watching the P v S match.

If you have done a clean install then its not worth repeating . did notice in your post at P3D you mentioned a texture issue so not to sure if you have done a refresh on the 'Shades' folder.

Textures are fine.  Yes, refreshed the shaders folder.

I noticed that Chrome.exe is spiking and is freezing my PC for a second.  I wonder if this is the problem.

I am trying to figure out the same issue.

I have a 8700k at 4.9ghz along with a evga hybrid 1080ti and I have good fps locked at 30hz but then it goes all over the place.

Its weird.

Never had an issue until I built a new system

Just tried another flight and now I get incredible sound clipping to go with it.  I'm really at a loss as to what's going on.

Hi All!

The culprit was discovered and much to my surprise it was actually FSDT's GSX which was just recently updated. I went over to their forums and there are COUNTLESS users reporting the exact same problem I am (capping the sim at 10-15fps no matter what situation is loaded). Unfortunately FSDT says they "can't replicate the problem" and that we all have to patiently wait for v4.3 to see if that changes anything. In the meantime I've uninstalled all FSDT products including Addon Manager and I'm back up to between 30-60 depending on where I'm flying. Upset that I can't use the products that I paid for right now, but I'm able to fly with good frames rn which is more important!

Well, I've seemed to fix my issues.  I have no clue as to how, but I did.

I was so elated to get over 100 SMOOTH FPS leaving PHX I turned around just north if DVT above 20,000 feet and hand flew it back.  Made a near perfect visual landing.  The sound crackles came back a little, but I paused the sim and unpaused it and they went away.

I think that's the first time I've hand flown a tube liner in FS.  I've never had a rig that could handle it.  I got the usual 30+ frames in the city, but more than manageable.

I didn't have WX running, just PMDG, ORBX(all), and Flightbeam's PHX.

I've done a ton of testing to get this, but have no clue as to what the trick was.  I think when making changes you need to restart the sim a lot to let the changes take effect.

One thing I didn't use on this flight was GSX though.

I'm having the same problem and when I mute the sim the frames come back to norm.

I also noticed when unmuting that Windows Audio process uses more cpu resources.

GSX has no affect.

Well, all the issues are back.  This is unbelievable.  I have no clue anymore.  Just wasted 4500.00 on a new PC.

Thoughts are with you, don't give up, Ver 4.3 is due tomorrow ( I should say expected) so you can give that a go.

You may have to try flying default airplanes in default scenery and then introduce adds one at a time.
