747-100 / 200 Classic coming from Just Flight

Recommended Posts

A 747 classic is long over due!

I confirmed that this will be for FSX and P3D and they will be released at the same time.

Spotted the rendering at the FS Expo in Las Vegas.

Release possibly this fall. The project is well underway.

It was great visiting with the super nice folks from Just Flight as it was with all of the developers.

Was hoping they'd get around to doing this, a steam gauge 747 is sorely missing from P3D V4, if they could throw an SP variant into there too, that'd be even better.

Who is the developer of this addon? Depending on that, I will be excited or disappointed.

I had an excellent visit with Martyn Nothall of Just Flight and he is handling the coding for the 747.

That is as much as I know.

Martyn is an excellent gentleman as was the entire Just Flight crew.

Getting to meet these developers face to face gives me a greater appreciation of the fine people who provide these wonderful products for our enjoyment.

Then I will be optimistic 😊

I still have fond memories of the Ready For Pushback 747-200, so I am hoping this one will be in the same league.

Was there any indication of whether there will be a smartly implemented flight engineer?

I do not know sir. They were very busy so I didn't have a lot of time for an in depth interview.

I'm sure in time they will release more information.

I wish I could provide more details for everyone but the news alone of a new 747 Classic for us is very exciting.

I did ask them to do the Columbia Airlines Livery from the movie Airport '75 minus the hole in the cockpit 😉

Man,i sure hope we'll be getting a "ready for Pushback" type of 747 classic!I just love the steam gauges and the many cargo operators that used this bird.I'll be doing a lot of africa cargo runs with MK Airlines once this gets released.

I just hope we won't be getting a CLS type of simulation.

Steven

I also asked them to build a Convair CV 880 / 900.

They like the aircraft to be sure but had reservations because of the very limited market success of the real aircraft.

I'm amazed how this fantastic aircraft hasn't been developed before for FSX / P3D by some of the other well known developers that specialise on Boeing aircraft.  I know we had Ready for Pushback and I spent some time talking to the developer because some of the systems were not quite right especially the fuel system, but he did produce a fairly realistic rendition of the 747 Classic including the Flight Engineers panel, but sadly a newer version I know he was working on didn't quite make it to release stage.

I hope Just Flight include the FMS Navigation system as most 747 Classics were retrofitted with these units and didn't just have the three Carousel INS units, and a realistic Flight Engineers station which will make it vastly different to fly from the 747-400.

I'll keep an eye on this project with great interest.

I would put money on them eventually getting around to doing a Convair 880/900. JF do seem to want to build all the older turbojet and turboprop airliners and are kind of the guardians of that sort of thing from having made so many of them. They're presently on with the Caravelle, having done the Comet and the DC-8, so apart from the 707, then we're into more obscure things anyway as far as turbojetliners are concerned, such as the DB Mercure, which sold even less than the Convair. At least the Convair has the claim to being the one Elvis picked!
