Add my vote for more African content [...] it's a very FPS friendly area.

For the love of god someone make Joburg

It needs another developer who isn't as demanding as Aerosoft with sight lines, etc. to give it a bash. Surely one of them can get an idea of what the modelling and texturing requirements are using photos off the internet.

I respect developers like FSDG for tackling this 'forgotten' continent. I would second more South African sceneries, as well as Nairobi, Adis Abeba and Dar Es Salaam. I'm a sucker for Eastern Africa...

On the bright side, while not really Africa, David Rosefelt is working on a new Tel Aviv for P3Dv4 🙂

NMG Simulations do have most of the major airports in South Africa covered and they do have P3DV4 installers. They are available from Simmarket for around 17 Euro for buyers outside South Africa, fair value I think.

I have FAOR, FACT, FABL, FALA, FALE and FAKM for V4 but some of their older releases for FSX still work ok on V4

Sorry, but they are not worth 17€ or anything near that.

You've obviously seen NMG scenery and will therefore understand why there is a demand for other developers produce a much better product.  NMG is by today's standards a low quality scenery.  I've used Nico's scenery since FS9 days and very little has changed

FSDG have much better design techniques and charge EUR 8 per airport.  EUR17 is a rip-off for NMG airports.

Emmanuel

That looks superb!  Really looking forward to this.  It looks like you are also doing FACT - I recorgnise Table Mountain in the background and the Pick 'n Pay distribution center near the runway threshold. (I'm from there)   Are  you able to share any more pictures of it?

Every thread like this brings people out of the woodwork claiming not only that NMG are the only game in town for South African airports (this is true!) but that their prices are "fair" or "reasonable," or that the quality is "pretty good."

Sorry, but no...they're not just a bit "behind the times" or something. Their airports look like freeware from FS98. That may be harsh but it's also true.

Excited to see a FACT project that looks good!

Thanks,  yes this is Capetown  !  DHL, Pick'n Pay, Mass DiscCount....

I'll share more screens on the facebook page soon .

Just bought GOBD this morning , very nice .

To get AI traffic for GOBD just follow this : config test  P3D V4.2 & Ultimate traffic live

With latest ADE (airport design editor)  open airport from bgl (FSDG /GOBD/scenery/ AFX_GOBD.bgl )

then open airport properties ,  change airport ID from GOBD to GOOY click ok

Compile airport on the same place with the same name : FSDG /GOBD/scenery/ AFX_GOBD.bgl

Modify; C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\scenery\0503\scenery\APX43260.bgl   to   .bak (make old GOOY off)

That's it

Great news Emmanuel

You'll be making alot of people very happy with these two releases.  I'm guessing they will be payware.  Any rough approximation of completion time frame?  Within 6 months?
