unable to import flight plan

Recommended Posts

I can not import the flight plans as shown in the manual so I do not know where I messed up at.  The flight plan page only has 2 selectable pages not 3 pages where the import flight plan is

This is the location of the flight plans: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS\FPL
You must create the FPL folder.
Place your .fpl files in there.

I did that

During installation did you create your own custom path for either the RXP or for the Garmin Trainer?

Actually the RXP is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim that is where all the RXP files went to

I got both the 3.00 and the 3.30 trainers installed that may be my problem

this shouldn't be a problem. However, you are still not telling where is your GNS trainer installed!

Like Bill511 stated above, Garmin .fpl flight plans for import into the GNS are located in the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS\FPL

Note that it is C:\ProgramData.....   not C:\ProgramFiles(86).......

You must create the FPL folder at that location.  I do not believe it is automatically created during install.

It is not automatically created indeed, and must be manually created, or like indicated in the RXP GNS User's Manual, you can create a 'shortcut' to any other folder instead.

I do use the shortcut method but it requires an extra step to establish and he is having difficulty just getting the folder to work.

That's exactly what is happening I can't get the folder to work and the extra step to make the short cut is easy to do but I'm not good with that stuff
