My display settings are exactly the same as they have been for 4.2. I have also deleted the shaders. I see no difference whatsoever in the lightning/water. Aside from performance optimizations, these improments are also not mentioned at all in the release notes. Seems like a placebo effect to me.

Maybe you don't have dynamic reflections enabled so you would not see any difference?.

It is hard to judge without knowing what the other users settings are.. perhaps you should ask them what their settings are and try?

I never know the best way to go about doing an upgrade? Should I wait for add-on updates or does this not require anything major like 4.2?

I always uninstall everything and start again from scratch.  I know the update is supposed to be perfectly fine, but still I'm always left wondering.  A bit like "did I leave the gas on".

Sorry, if all you've got from that is that I'm a bit odd.

I have a mid-low end system and I don't really notice any performance difference with dynamic lighting in V4.3.

Not a surprise to me. Could you please comment if you see or not any performance improvement in VR?

Cheers, Ed

I'm not using VR

Be advised lads new nvidia drivers just came out too

You know if the problem DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED was fixed with the new driver " 398.36 "?? I know the problem was create by NVidia Inspector and Frame Rate Limiter...

It has been discussed before that P3D runs way better without NVidia inspector.

Id also love to know this. Using asus GPU tweak 2 also causes this

Fair enough, but should we keep p3d off core 0, or use core 0 for p3d and move other apps onto different cores ie 1,2,3 ?

I tried a different approach. HT off and overclocked only physical core 0 to 5.9Ghz, since P3D (and also XP11) is mainly using core 0 for calculations. The result is pretty good.

I think we are back to square one to be honest, LM clearly stated in the 4.3 change log that they changed the rendering of the engine so now we must start testing all over again what is the best setting to get the best desired results with 4.3

@SteveW is very good at this, so I will wait until he perform some tests and let the community know what is best for 4.3.

S.
