PTA and P3D v4.3

Here's one with all my REX textures added:

It seems a little murkier than before, so I may need to tweak my HDR values a little. Of course - it could just be the weather!!!

I used the A2A P-40 just to test whether the older/legacy WOP3 models work (they do!!).

Adam.

Do you really see any ambient/lighting differences ? So far a lot of people made a big fuzz about how it 100 times more beautiful then 4.2

I can't see any difference at all ... but then I might not - seeing as I've just replaced the new shaders with old P3Dv4.2 ones to test PTA.

Now I know the temporary PTA workaround works, I may restore the proper P3Dv4.3 shaders to see if I can spot anything.

The only things that stops me rushing to go back to the proper P3Dv4.3 shaders are the dreaded "popcorn" clouds (still not fixed) and terrible water. PTA really helps with both of those.

By the way, I wonder if we'll see also get any content updates for PTA, meaning new features. It seems to be only getting compatibly updates since its release. The original developer of PTA seemed to be updating its core often. At least this is what I remember, correct me if wrong.

I doubt it, he appears to be stretched thin with all his projects. https://mettarsim.com/

He is rarely around here posting anymore much less I think developing enhancements for PTA. I am curious to know how long it will take for him to even acknowledge that he is working on a version 4.3 update. For many this is "must have" software for P3D much like a wx program. That's why I paid money for it and am waiting to update to 4.3 until this is ready. I hope/wish he understood it's importance to many members of the community and treated it accordingly.

They simply refuse to fix some things looks like. Same with shadows disappear as you pan.

P3Dv4.2 also had the Lighting/Shadows  a little different from earlier versions.

Therefore I had to modify my All Months  preset set which I released 2 days ago.

I will try it tomorrow with V4.3.

There are some fantastic assumptions/conspiracies in this thread. All I will say is unless it comes from the horses mouth (i.e. me), don't believe it.

There should be an update for Prepar3D v4.3 in the next few days.

As far as new features and other improvements, without saying too much, PTA will be evolving into something significantly better in the not too distant future. The focus of the tool will be more than just shader tweaking.

I know I'm not very active on here but I am a 1 man band doing the job of about 20 people. I am spread very thin at the moment but it will all be worth it in the end 🙂

If you need anything urgently, use the contact form on the website - it goes straight to my phone. I reply to everyone that needs legitimate help.

Excellent news.

I’m the schmuck who updated the 4.3 client without remembering to restore default shaders. Now everything is pretty overexposed and washed out.  Oops.

I may be wrong, but I thought a client update installs new/default shaders?

With the reports coming in so far I am betting you will have to tweak all your presets again. I am also betting the sim will look fantastic once you do in 4.3.

yeah, update , both Client, and Content, and it will install the shaders for 4.3. which you'll need anyways once Matt updates PTA.
