Tomato Shade Update out for 4.3

Recommended Posts

Hello,

A quick rundown of what TomatoShade created by TomatoSalat adds compared to say PTA or Envshade which are the following.

- Firstly PBR dynamic reflections on aircraft as well as fixing bugs within the aircraft lighting pipeline, you can make your own or use profiles from others for each aircraft. - Example: https://imgur.com/a/U1PsuR7 (Reflects ground lights, objects, etc) (Just on hand shots of mine, there are better ones on the /r/flighsim reddit)

- Atmospheric horizon tweak - Example: https://imgur.com/Q7Ugc7mhttps://imgur.com/Jomx9Kxhttps://imgur.com/haGulh9https://imgur.com/BaESDjD (Not the best example but one I have on hand, I'd have to dig for TomatoSalat's own shots that demonstrates it a lot better)

- New Orbx night lights (I.E. additional colors, rendering based on distance) Example: https://imgur.com/ZneF2Aa

- Puddles when it rains at airports that support dynamic reflections - Example: https://imgur.com/75w09hz

- Some tweaks to aircraft spotlights

- Some optimizations in general 8d9af2b025446a79f7f560e7f51601bc.png  333cc88af4e8d8b8724a43991ff00393.png

After that you have pretty much every other of the common tweaks that are found within programs such as PTA or Envshade.

Do have a nice day.

The PBR-like reflections are the main advantage of tomatoshade over PTA, other than of course the fact that it's free.

I have a problem with Tomato Shade.
In the last update of FS Labs Airbus A320 I also downloaded the latest Tomato Shade. And the P3d V4 is now on version 4.3 !!
If the original shaders are turned on everything is ok. But if the Tomato Shader are activated this problem exists see Pic !!
The Becan Light is so garish that in the engine view, the whole engine is red.
For all other aircraft PMDG no problems.
What could that be ??
Preset is the RD Preset 1.

I've used both, but for now I'm perfectly happy with tomatoshade.  The presets I've been using to compare both are producing almost identical results, but the reflectionmaker is out of this world.  Six and one-half-dozen I suppose as to which is better, however I hear that Matt is working on something new and exciting features for PTA, so maybe that will give it a bigger edge over the new competition?  REX environment force is also promising to allow us to modify shader settings in real time as well, without having to restart p3d after making changes...so some big things are lurking on the horizon.  Can't wait.

Happy Flying,

John

That happened to me too because I forgot to restore original shaders before upgrading to 4.3.  I reinstalled the 4.2 client, restored original shaders, then reinstalled 4.3 client.  Once you do that, then everything should work fine.

Tomato adds very realistic reflection such as similar to this Prepar3D%202018-06-28%2018-38-25_zpsdjldPrepar3D%202018-07-01%2017-04-37_zpsufrvPrepar3D%202018-07-02%2015-48-09_zpsvmcc

Howdy Fellow Captains,

Just a head's up, Tomato Shade has been updated to work with 4.3.  Just remember to restore original shaders before installing the 4.3 client and running the updated version of Tomato Shade.  I made the mistake of forgetting to do that and it created some error messages.  If you updated the client already, roll it back, restore original shaders, then reinstall 4.3 client, re-apply whatever shader presets being used and everything should work fine.  I also had to reinstall the reflections.  In any case, this is great news, and a good alternative to PTA while Matt works on an update.

Cheers,

John

What is the point on restoring the original shaders since when you install the new v4.3 client it should overwrite it anyway?
Does it happen to PTA as well?

Hello,

TomatoShade is free and it itself is a tool where you can use the developers preset or your own/others. Heres the latest download link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/26p2ufw3t6edxqb/TomatoShade.zip

Exactly what I am thinking!

So, how can I fix without reinstall 4.2,  reinstall 4.3 have created lot's of reinstall and seriously I would like to avoid it!

Where we can get support for this software, even if it's freeware?
