For P3dVer4.3: "My Traffic 6" or "Ultimate Traffic Live"?

Featured Replies

I have been researching the above two programs for adding AI traffic to my P3dVer4.3...Do any members have experience/opinions with either of these programs and advice as to which to choose? Thanks a lot!

I have used both.  UTlive hands down.

UTL.

Does UTL inject traffic the same way as MT6? via bgl or a different method. And why do you guys suggest UTL over MT6?

UTL doesn't use bgl's which saves a lot of loading time. I don't notice a decrease in performance either with UTL. It's easy to setup: install... and that's it. You only have to change the amount of GA and airliners if you want to. It has a good interface but I never ever use the program itself: no need for that. You can change that amount of AI on the fly, just like you can a.o. disable (and enable) traffic altogether while flying. I've used MT6 in the past but stopped using it a long time ago already because of performance problems and loading times.

UTL is the clear choice.  You won't be disappointed.

UTL injects over SimConnect and it runs beautifully.

And how are the plane models? good quality?

Try it for yourself.  Purchase and, if you do not like it, Flight1 will refund your money.  Textures are as good as the eye of the beholder.  Personally, I think the quality is outstanding and this is definitely a great replacement for MT6.  But, two others will say, the models are the worst ever developed for a product.

Personally, I think they're great in UTL. I was surprised to see some of the very up to date aircraft and liveries.

My only drawback is that, currently, there are no military AI. Other than that, it's a winner for me.

UTL is far better IMO. You've seen a  ton of praise (which I agree with) so I'll be the mildly "negative Nancy" in this thread!

*Although you can add FedEx and UPS (not sure about other cargo airlines) I have been unable to do it. You have to find the right model, the right paint job then find the right schedule. I tried it and nada. YMMV (MT6 has these with no additional work)

* If you like General Aviation and Military AI, in UTL, you're out of luck. Sparse and repetitive GA and no military AI. (MT6 has several of both)

*If you like content updates (like me) then you're out of luck with both programs...

*Planes fly great circle routes. So you will not see your AI following Jetways

Even with the above, UTL >>> MT6...

Depends if you want 2 year old winter schedules knowing that you will probably always have that with no further updates planned and the near future
