PTA - what version do I need?

Recommended Posts

Since lots of people run various versions of Prepar3D, and each version of Prepar3D has it's own specific needs in terms of shader support, I've compiled a list of PTA versions and what Prepar3D releases they support.

Not being a computer expert, the idea of Hotfix 1, 2 or 3 is meaningless to me. My question is; do I have to install each version for P3D 4.5 or can I just go for the latest one, i.e. Hotfix 3. The terminology is a little misleading when it says "PTA 2.68 - Prepar3D v4.5 HotFix 3 only ...", with the emphasis on the word 'only'.

It means that PTA 2.68 is for Prepar3D v4.5 Hotfix 3 ONLY.  More info here:

But you're walking thru a cemetery here, looking for life. Better to read some of the recent posts and then move on to another shader program.

I have a similar issue - I use P3D V4.5 so have downloaded version 2.66 of PTA.  However when I run pta.exe I have three shader files that the error log says are not originals.  These are dated from when I upgraded to P3D V4.5 but even so, following the site advice I deleted the my P3D client.msi and reinstalled it and still PTA says the same shader files are not originals.

What am I doing wrong ?

Appreciate any steer.

Thanks
