Hey Dan, what kind of frames are you getting compared to the 747-400??

Thanks!

Hi Robert... sorry, I stopped paying attention to frame rate a long time ago.  Also, I have gone to VSync triple buffering with a 30 Hz display so my average frame rate is always 30!

Gotcha Dan, how about a smoothness comparison?

Thanks

I'm not perceiving any difference in rendering performance between the B748 and the B744.  Animation is very smooth.

Thread topic asked "What's New?".   Is it the tail stand?   Something about that "up-ended" comment in your post makes me wonder....

Mark- I just saw this- YES!

PMDG has finally released the updated tail-stand. It has an epoxy paint coating to reduce the maintenance issues from APU exhaust contamination and will soon be available throughout the freighter fleet. Well spotted 😉

Yes….yes!

Carl,

Upon careful examination, and much reflection, and indeed a little research, it appears they used the high-end Acme Epoxy and not the cheap stuff, which tends to turn yellow.  I knew my Lasik Procedure would pay off in dividends!

(whose radio controlled Big Stick 40 is held together entirely by epoxy...)

Mark-

As an avid RC pilot myself (mostly Helis) I am glad to hear that your RK surgery is paying off!

Not everyone can pick up on such subtle nuances as epoxy paint grades.
