Best Scenery?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,After having pc issues for sometime now, I went on with a full re-isntsall of windows, loosing everything, Flight Sim included. One of my biggest searches is for high detail scenery addons for FS.Trying not to miss anything, I thought Id see if anyone here could name a few "must-haves" to get my sim back to the way it was. Also, freeware runway/taxiway textures are wanted also. I just downloaded the new xtra runways which looks very nice, and Im about to test them out now. Anything scenery related that you know of, name it. :)Thanks guys! :-wave

Hi,Go to the Avsim Library search page and select 'FS2004 Scenery' from the selection. For the filename type *.zip to return everything. When the results are displayed sort by Downloads. That will show you the most downloaded which are probably the best freeware packages available.Cheers,

Ray (Cheshire, England).

I like the FS9 versions of scenery by the Italian Scenery Design Project. Look for the "2005" versions. I have Rome Fuciamo(?) which is excellent (LIRF) and Olbia (LIEO), and Milano Malpensa (LIMC). Search in FS9 scenery for ISD or ISDP. Files are hosted here on AVSIM.You can see screenies at www.isdproject.com.They also have FS8 scenery with patch upgrades to FS9.Most have moving vehicles, optional static aircraft, dynamic airbridges, and those "traffic light - direction light" indicators at some gates.Frame rates are good.Charts from here:http://www.vatita.net/?dir=download&pagina=planning/charts

Do a search for Bremerton International (KPWT) and Tacoma Narrows (KTIW)those are two great freebies. Also Shez's Long Beach and burbank sceneries are great. All the Italian sceneries mentioned are also steller. Also dont forget KBOS. George did a great job on that sucker too! Check out Qualicum Beach (CAT4) as well. For payware, just buy everything ever done by Georender.

Also look for the Russian airports, such as Pulkovo (St. Petersburg),Alma'Aty, and others. They are very well done. Also San Jose, Costa Rica (MROC) also has a great scenery out there.Rhett

Hi,I would use the link as posted above as these russian sceneries are on avsim.ru in Russian language. The link above for all freeware sceneries links directly to the download.Try Sochi for starters... Russian beach resort... good to hop to from Yerevan, Istanbul ( also a good freeware scenery linked from above site ), Moscow etc.Another good download is Bombay ( or Mumbai as some people call it now ). Again linked from that same site.It all depends what you are into.. smaller regionals for GA flying or the big Intl hubs for your Boeings etc.... thankfully there is plenty out there, and that's what makes this hobby great.Paul
