July 22, 20187 yr Moderator I saw this posted yesterday at SOH: Quote I found this news story, apparently it was a De Havilland Venom that crashed into a barn. The pilot is confirmed as having died upon impact and two farm workers were injured. Very sad news.http://www.wbay.com/content/news/Pla...488762471.html The pilot was Marty Tibbitts, president of the World Heritage Air Museum, which owns/operates quite an expansive collection of flying vintage jets. They were scheduled to be bringing the de-Havilland Venom and a Gloster Meteor to Oshkosh for this coming week, as part of the celebration of 100 years of the RAF. Absolutely tragic news. This is a truly sad beginning to what is supposed to be a week of absolute delight. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

July 22, 20187 yr Not a good year for Oshkosh. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
