huh? reduce your LOD radius slider :tongue:
Echo... "but i need it for Photoreal"

Exactly as Ultra with PR scenery looks about the same as High with LC scenery.

But is PR scenery seen as Objects ?

no, but LC below still is :)
LC is blocked in this instance but not unloaded!

Actually I have never seen any performance impact regarding this special effects setting. I only turned it down recently due to those autogen loading issues I had, but as it also had not impact on this, I turned it to the max. again.

i believe with your hardware you should be able to take advantage of higher tessellation settings,

@AnkH
i have noticed a significant difference from the test i run here (it could be a local anomaly as well),
with building and veg density slider set to sparse; setting “special effect detail” slider to max i get the lower FPS than when i turn “special effect detail” to low and Buildings and Veg sliders back to max,

To be honest, such a test only makes "sense" in a scenario where you actually have "special effects". If you run this test on a scenery or with a plane not showing any special effects, you will not notice a difference... But I actually don't really know which scenery or plane uses this special effects, except FSReborn, so personally, I can not really test this properly...

Sim\Effects folder is packed with default .fx elements not to mention third party effects added,
from water waves, clouds, particles, light, stars, etc. these are all native fx type elements,
even at min slider settings there's always a minimum forced range,

If only we could do something to make V4.3 let go of objects out of sight ...

If V4.3 does not listen to let go commands coming via Simconnect , perhaps some setting/tweak might help...

Hi Gerard,

It does seem odd that this was addressed some time ago and yet, apparently, here it is again, and this despite having survived all the rigours of Beta testing!

Why was this not spotted, and why have the Beta testing team members, now unfettered by the NDA, not been chipping in to recount their experiences? Perhaps their test flights were never long enough to reveal the problem. Can’t say I’ve noticed this issue with v4.3 and I’m starting to wonder whether restricted flight duration explains the reason for their silence.

Regards,

Mike

@Cruachan
nothing has been officially confirmed just yet!
lets not jump to conclusions,

Beta Team members are here trying to assist the community as well as each other ❤️
some still diligently at it and should be given time to thoroughly investigate and present their findings,
no one knows yet for certainty; each is shooting in one direction at a time until we hear "ouch" :laugh:

the silence is because we are aware the community is very stressed about this,
no one wants to bring more speculations; we are looking for the cause and solutions if possible,

i can confirm a condition has been replicated by a Team member currently perusing his lead!
patience is a virtue :rolleyes:

By the way chaps - The sim performs better with 'at least some tessellation' rather than set zero that's a performance drop even on older cards..

@SteveW
that's what i'm aware of as well,
Tess has greatly matured over the past few years;
the concept now works and in our case will greatly benefit objects being shipped directly to GPU for faster processing through Tess element,

Don’t understand this?  Your GPU is doing this processing exclusively and you have a good GPU(s).

I’m almost done with my AG problem testing, couple more test to verify a few things.  Will post in blurries thread.

But so far testing seems to result in don’t use Unlimited, always set frame rate limit, the more add-ons installed the more the need to increase FFTF.  Once the AG process gets to far behind it never recovers.  Dynamic FFTF can trigger this and values below 0.33 can trigger the problem ... this was repeatable on my 3 PCs as I added more vendor content.

I’ll post my results Tuesday night along with some details and video.  Again not suggesting this will be the case for everyone but it was the case for my 3 PCs I tested on.

Cheers Rob
