Lear35 P3D Frame Rates

Recommended Posts

I don't have P3D but would like to get some feedback for a friend that does.  With the Lear35 (using one GTN750 and the Rex WX radar with Active Sky 16) he is getting about 22FPS in the VC, and about 28-29 FPS outside the a/c. These figures are lower than he gets with FSX, especially the VC frame rate.   Are these frame rates typical for the Lear35 in P3D?  Did you notice a drop in frame rates moving from FSX to P3D with the Lear35?  My friend does not see a comparable frame rate drop between FSX and P3D with other a/c which have a frame rate of about 33.

Thx for any input,

Al

Hi Al,

While frames are all very subjective and I've never used FSX - the Lear is very light on the frames for me - i2700K@4.7Ghz with a GTX970 - a pretty old PC loaded up with all the usual suspects of addons - I don't typically fly into large Bravo's - more ORBX/FlyTampa/LatinVFR Charlies and Deltas... Smooth as butter and well in excess of what you mentioned...

Regards,

Scott

Scott -- thanks for the input, appreciate it! I will pass the info on.

BTW, your "...I've never used FSX" comment surprised me. A pure P3D man, eh?   😉

Hi Al,

Hah - or a real FS9 diehard - depending on your perspective (FS9 to P3Dv3)...

Honestly - P3D is so worth it - c'mon in the water is warm...

Scott

Scott,

I expect I will go over to P3D at some point (probably when I have to replace my computer), but right now FSX-SE is meeting my needs just fine.

As they say, if it ain't broke, .....

It's like FSX on staroids and now with V4 you have 64 bit which means no more limit of 4GIG memory!😁

Hi Al,

Welcome aboard and good for you !!!

I know I have no regrets - even on my old rig...

P3D is a worthy investment for me...

Sometimes - while flying near dawn or dusk with the long light/shadow playing across the panel - I'm sitting there with my mouth open it looks so realistic - still...

Regards,
Scott
