8 quick sunset shots over Pontiac and Detroit Michigan

Featured Replies

here are 8 shots of my 'sunset 1' that I shared here in the screenshots section.  Its a 96 mile visibility with no clouds.  I took off from KPTK at 6pm March 22 and flew towards KDET and on into Canada and then across and back to KDTW.  The sun looks a little odd without its halo at first but when the sunset textures start coming in, I think it looks great. ymmv.  having no clouds is important.  clouds make the bottom parts of the sky much heavier and darker somehow.

Glad to see I am not the only one flying the Aerolite 103!  Great sunset pics!

John - I love flying the ultralight.  I designed these sunsets from it.  You know it bothered me that you couldn't use my work so I figured out a way that you could (if you want to that is).

How is that, how can I use your sunset work?

John - I've designed two sunsets around the idea of using the default orbit sunglow file so you don't have to do any texture editing.  You just have to copy and paste things and other than my file (the tall thin image included with the pics in the thread), everything else is default.

See this thread:

Follow those directions and then hop into the ultralight at KPTK with no clouds and 96 mile vis and fly southeast for a bit and then around the Detroit area.  that's where the screenshots are from (except for the Chicago one).  you will need datatref editor but most people already have that I think.  and also remember to use the 'Developer' menu to select only the mount texture.  otherwise you'll be seeing a mix of my work and default.  there are hoops to jump through but I think its worth it.
