Modify the way the AP responds / makes inputs to controls

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to modify the way the AP responds to deviations from parameters set in the MCP? Or rather the general "smoothness" of the inputs the AP makes?

E.g. when changing the heading, the movement of the aileron is roughly as follows (assuming dead air): it starts deflecting at a certain speed to a maximum deflection, stays there until it is close to the aimed bank angle before the deflection reduces at a certain speed until the aileron reaches a position that maintains the bank angle.

Does anyone know if is it possible to modify the AP in a way, that this process becomes a bit "smoother" or "harsher"?

Have a browse through the Intro Manual for questions like these. There's a ton of info in there that answers just about anything you'd ever want to know about the plane...this included.

If you're not one for reading, then a quick browse through the PMDG SETUP > menu structure on the CDU MENU page will get you on the right path.

Hi Kyle,

thanks for your quick answer. I browsed through every path of the PMDG SETUP in the CDU and read/scrolled through the Introduction Manual, but couldn't find anything regarding that topic. Can you give me another hint? If my description wasn't clear enough, I can try to explain it again.

Best regards

Pages 90 - 92, specifically 92, of the Intro would probably be of interest.

As for configuring anything beyond that, nope - people cannot artificially make the plane behave in wholly different ways from the aircraft simulated.

Alright, thanks!
