FlyJsim 727 V3

Recommended Posts

I returned my VR unit as I wasn't really happy with the resolution. The feeling of "being there" was great though.

Got this at the rather nice discount and have managed to find some time to do a couple of flights. I haven't tried the FMC yet, as I feel it's rather misplaced in this old lady, and have instead used either VOR to VOR or the CIVA INS (man I would like two of those so I could see dis/time and tk/gs at the same time). I like the old-school feel of this aircraft and that you have to babysit it a bit so it don't hurt itself and everyone else in the process. The lighting is excellent and I enjoy the sounds as well.

I'm wondering about the descent though. Cutting back throttles to almost idle and setting IAS hold on the descent gives me a V/S of about 1000-1500 fpm. Shouldn't the descent be speedier than that?
