New computer, advice needed.

It depends on what else you are going to do with this rig. If it is only for P3D, i would go for whatever monitor that suits your budget, resolution and size with the capability of running at 30Hz. If you play other games, you might also look for G-Sync and/or 144Hz.

If you're going for less than 30", don't get sucked into buying a 4k monitor - I'd go for QHD - 2560x1440. You'd just be wasting money and adding to the system load (and reducing FPS) unnecessarily with 4k on that screen size. The individual pixels on a 27" QHD monitor are already too small to see so you gain nothing by going for a higher resolution.

Whilst some people swear by using a 30Hz refresh rate, I use 60Hz and have no problems with smoothness at 2560x1440 so wouldn't consider it essential for a new monitor.

Me neither, I have my P3D smooth on my 144Hz Gsync monitor. But smoothness is hard to compare, might not find my setup smooth anymore after I have seen 30Hz in action. Thats why I recommended it: it might be worth checking.

Hi Guys,

I'm in the same boat too, as my I7-5820K is aging and as I fly P3D in VR only, I need every bit of firepower I can get from my new PC.

So I'm either going the I9-9900K or the I9-7980xe/7960x route. What to you guys think will perform better, with a descent watercooling and overclocking?

I know the I9-9900K is not even out, but I have no experience with the I9, just heard its a great CPU and the Level3 cache and cores might play a big role...

After many hours searching best solutions which can fit my budget I come with this configuration.

• NZXT computer case H440 Matte Black-blue with window

I'm not IT person so will be great if you can check if this set will do the job for another few years or maybe some components are not compatible or alternatively, better replacements are available.

I just want to find some balance on the cost/quality/performance ratio.

2080ti is an expensive video card.. a 2070 will likely do the job if budget is a consideration.

I would be looking at the 8086k rather than the 8700k and also a Z390 board.  You're spending top dollar, pointless not to get the latest technology

I was looking at the Z390-F motherboard but couldn't find it on sale or in stock right after Thanksgiving so I bought the Asus Z390-H which was. Anyways, to answer your question .... 2x16GB. Leaves two slots open when you decide 32GB is not enough.

As someone who recently bought a new system I would suggest 2 x 16Gb rather than 4 x 8Gb. Easier for overclocking apparently.

I bought G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks).

If you're still mulling over a monitor consider the 32" BenQ PD3200U UHD (3840*2160) and does 60Hz and 30Hz. Quality is stunning.

Pretty decent AIO. Noted for having a quiet pump and good enough cooling for a decent OC. fans could be a tad quieter but of course they can be swapped for different fans.
