Plane Crash Ft. Lauderdale

Recommended Posts

Hi all,Not that anyone would see this on the news with all the stupid stuff they are reporting today, but an aircraft has gone down in a Street in Ft. Lauderdale. It seems it was a Douglas Super R4D-8. (Pretty much like a DC-3, with a few changes, stretched fuselage, etc...)Very sad day.Thankfully, all 3 crew seem to have survived, which is a testament that they were able to bring that down in a street, and no one was killed. Link:http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...ll=chi-news-hedAcording to the reg, the Current Owner has only had it since March of 2005, and is owned by an Individual, who was not on the plane. Here is the Reg: N3906JDatabase search here:http://www.landings.comRegards,Joeaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Good afternoon,Yes, the registration # of the DC-3 was N3906J and some pics can be found at airliners.netThe plane apparently crashed on North 56th Street after an engine loss. According to my prediction, it was probably #2.All 3 pax safe and some people said the aircraft flew literary 50 feet over their heads. :-eekI wonder if anybody on AVSIM lives near this sceneCheersPatrick
