Cold and Dark start

Recommended Posts

I just purchased this the other day and it is beautiful.

I tried to follow the cold and dark start up procedures but cannot locate most of the switches on the checklist.

I could be blind but is there anything that shows where these switches are located? I followed the picture that gives the panel locations but the still don't see the switches.

Thanks

Doug

Hi Doug,

Although Carenado have really done a pretty good job on this aircraft, unfortunately, yet again, their documentation falls short and the flight deck diagram supplied in their 'Normal Procedures' pdf is just not adequate for someone unfamiliar with this aircraft or turbine aircraft in general. They need to provide a detailed labelled diagram, as most developers do, indicating the function of the switches, instruments etc in each panel.

I'm afraid finding the various switches and knobs is therefore a matter of trial and error. Don't worry you are not blind - I already overlooked a reverse lock switch and thought that reverse pitch was just not functional! But, if you haven't discovered them by now, most of the switches needed for start up are on the overhead panel where the controls for the various systems are grouped together, with the engine starting controls in the centre.
