Sad that we get so many negative posts.

It's only a bit of fun.

Soon TM  Is from the days of the NGX when it was posted on the PMDG site. All us vets remember that one.

Basically, take a look at their facebook page, this gives you a few clues. If the plane in question looks like it's landing, then it's getting close to release.

PMDG products are probably the most finished on release. There top of the line aircraft.

But Dont try and dress up soon as something you can dismiss to your liking.

If you called a taxi and ask how long will it be and they said “shortly” just how long would you wait before your thought “use what ever phrase you like”.

Updates on progress is great  but leave  of with disleading/loaded comments like shortly and soon it’s really does not do you any favours and by using the terms for people that don’t know you better, little wonder why people think it’s coming “soon”

Dont change what you do just please cut the silly misleading remarks out. That’s all.

Well, creating hype is a good marketing tactic but it can backfire too.

I'm learning to try and stay switzerland as I keep working myself up every weekend praying for it to be released 😂 But atleast I know that PMDG is working hard to release a well working plane.

If you guys fly half as good as you 'over' analyze, you all would win the Collier Trophy...ROFL.

PMDG has said nothing misleading.  Even using the term 'soon' is NOT anywhere close to misleading.

Hey i have a question...

I wached some of chewwys Beta Videos of the -8 and for me the Engines sounded like the Ge90s to me. So is it just me or do they Sound like this or Are These just placeholders as the final Sound is yet a wip?

Thanks in advance

Chewwy said in one of his streams that they’re gonna be playing with sounds. If you listen carefully, it does sound a bit more deep or rumbling sound if that makes sense. But I do understand what you say. It does sound a bit similar to ge 90s

the GEnX-2B engines are much closer to GE90 than the old CF6.. so yeah the -8 may sound more like a 777 than an old 744.. these engines have a much higher bypass ratio so i guess that gives it more bass..

anyway, i recently bought both the 777 and 744 and i'm having a blast flying them in P3D v4.3... my flightsim experience has never been better.. the sounds and visuals from PMDG are jaw dropping!  plus they perform better than QW 787 (which i know will get a performance update)..

As someone who has scribbled out software since the mid 80s, the last 10% of the coding effort is the hardest (and often most time consuming).  Usually it's only when you finish a piece of software, stand back, take a good look, that it then becomes clear how you actually should have written it.

Even though it isn't out yet (the -8), can it not be said that sometimes the longing for a thing can be almost as pleasant as having the thing?  I actually enjoy looking forward to this product, in a day and age where there doesn't seem to be much "good" to look forward to.

Its the old 20/80 rule at play. You code the first 80% of the software in 20% of the time, whereas the last 20% of the software takes 80% of the time.

I love this thread!  I am recovering from surgery and spending a lot of time in bed recovering.   This is pure entertainment.   Can some post the following.

when is the 747-8 really coming out.?

what about the 737 and 777 updates?

what is pmdg next plane?

i need more humorous reading material.
