Force departure runway taxi instructions incorrect

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I loaded a flight plan making sure to force my departure runway of 1L at KSFO.  While the map showed the flight plan taking off from 1L I received taxi instructions to 28R and it even showed the taxi route on the map to 28R.  Did I do something incorrectly?

Thanks

Devin

If you want to send the P2A log file to admin@pilot2atc.com, I can have a look.

Log files are located in:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs
where <UserName> is your PC user name. Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab.
A new one is created each time you start Pilot2ATC, so if you take the most recent one when you have the error, you should have the correct one.

Devin,

In order to “Force” the runway selection, you must check the option on the FltPln tab of config “Force Pilot Runway Selection”.  Then setting up a SID or selecting a runway in the SID window will cause ATC to use that runway.

I have also encountered the wrong taxi way instructions.  This has been happening since 2505 and I believe the new Force DeP Rwy option was added to SID.  No matter what I tried all flight plan options in config disabled etc.

I finally just ignored the problem and went to the runway in my plan.   It has been a while since I have flown  but it may have something to do with runway for departure based on weather.  I don't know how to reproduce as yet.

I do think there is a problem and it isn't a usage issue or a config option.  I don't ever recall having incorrect taxi way instructions.  Departure from the wrong runway based ATIS etc yes still happens but this isn't that problem.

My memory fails but I think it had something to do with the fix for p2a choosing the incorrect sid for the runway chosen.  P2A was choosing a sid for other end of the runway.

As a clarification, I also had this issue when I selected force dep rwy in the sid.   I was not assigned to the runway I chose.  When I also checked the separate  FltPln tab of config “Force Pilot Runway Selection”, the selected runway was assigned.   Apparently both are needed.
