Thanks Rob.  It's true I don't give up easily.  It is not pleasant at times, but it is me.  Oh my poor wife...

Hi Rob.   I am throwing the towel in.  I tried just one 166A on a brand new computer running FSX And it shows in GFC but won’t come alive in FSX at all.   I sent the following to Tony and John at GoFlight.  I want to thank you for your help.   I apparently am just hopeless on two new computers, or the radios I have are garbage.  Regards, Bruce.

Tony -

I am done and I can't take it any longer.  I'd have to guess you guys just think I'm an incapable 64 yo looking for something for nothing.  That is not me.  But I am done, either the 166A's are garbage, or I'm truly incompetent.  I've tried them on two new computers, under both P3D and FSX.  No go.  I sent this message to John today:

John -

I am using the cables you supplied.  Today I tried to enable just one 166A on a brand new computer I built one month ago and it's not working (a mid-level Asus).  It shows in GFC and I can adjust the brightness, I have run W8F, rebooted, but it won't show in FSX.  (Other computer is a Gigabyte using P3D).  It just won't work in the sim, won't light up, won't do anything.  The yoke works just fine.

I have reached my limit.  I've now literally spent two weeks straight working on this and I am beaten.  I am not incompetent but I give up.  I can't take the frustration and disappointment any longer.  It's a joke.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Bruce

BTW - I did try a new powered usb 2.0 card.  Made no difference.

I can understand the frustration, it does sound like you have some bad 166's.

Cheers, Rob.

EDIT: in the past GoFlight have been pretty good about RMAs and getting them back to me quickly.
