August 28, 20187 yr I’m not sure what’s going on, but at several of my airports, I have witnessed my UTL AI traffic buzz the runway at 500ft instead of landing and then going missed approach. I have P3Dv4.3 installed. I can’t say I remember this happening in v4.2.... has anyone else seen this?

Use the the AFCAD designer and verify if the runways have been configured correctly, also check if it has been configured with the correct gates and that you have gates available as otherwise it could cause this problem. I suggest to try on other airports as well to confirm you don't have a "global" issue S. Oficial Website: https://www.FSReborn.com Discord Channel: https://discord.gg/XC82TqvKQ3
August 28, 20187 yr Do all of the AI planes do this? The FSX/P3D AI system is not perfect, and missed approaches caused by AI planes that are too high are not exactly rare. I’ve caught a King Air doing it, a Legacy 600, and a CRJ-200 doing it.
August 28, 20187 yr Was the runway ahead completely vacated and clear of traffic? The AI will get blown around pretty early if there's still traffic on the runway. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

They’ll get down to about 500 AGL and just zoom on past and won’t even attempt to land.
August 28, 20187 yr How about traffic behind? Often when there are a few in close proximity to each other, the #2 or even #3 aircraft will have the landing clearance and then get overtaken by an aircraft resulting in an overshoot. Ideally, you need to give the sim time for the AI to settle, 15-30 mins even after starting a flight and that can vary from airport to airport depending on how busy it is and it's runway configuration. The ATC in the sim is useless with single runway operations. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
August 28, 20187 yr Can you observe this at a stock airport? I have, in which case it's usually the AI spacing causing the go-arounds as Dave says. As Dave mentions above, I have seen AI in too close proximity doing that behavior, especially if the sim hasn't been running very long and the traffic hasn't settled. Also, sometimes the airport's AFCAD nodes are set such that the AI system thinks another AI is still on the runway, when in fact it has already exited -- causing go-arounds. In some cases there may be an issue with an aftermarket AFCAD, causing the t/d point to be incorrect as well. Also, I have seen what Christopher mentions, above -- specifically, I've seen certain AI flight models do this behavior on final. August 28, 20187 yr Author I have observed this strange behavior landing at an airport after a three hour flight. Ai should be plenty settled by then. Also I fly corporate so I tend to go into smaller regional airports and the traffic is light. Rarely are two planes on approach at the same time. Each time this has happened, it’s just a single aircraft on approach with nothing else moving.
August 28, 20187 yr What airport? And where was your aircraft positioned when you viewed the AI? Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

August 29, 20187 yr Big thing to keep in mind as well is that the ATC engine in the sim is garbage, then we also add in so much more ai than it was ever designed to handle. L35 and KGPI are also both mountainous airports with limited IFR approaches, sure GPI has the ILS 02, but the AI is really limited in what it's going to be able to do. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
