GTN Trainer 650 Freezes in X Plane 11 (resolved)

Recommended Posts

Hello! I recently bought this pluggin for my X Plane 11, I already have the GTN Trainer in my computer. So, I installed this pluggin and when I tried to use it in game.. it freezes after a minute. I can not use the Map or change the frecuency of COM or NAV for exampke. Does it have a requirement for the proper use? Because I have a Dell Inspiron with Intel Core i7, 12 gb RAM and Radeon R445 4gb. My OS is Windows 10. The simulator runs ok, the airplane that I use is Beechcraft A36 of Carenado.

I tried to reinstall but unfortunally it is the same.

I hope you can help me with this problem. Thanks

Hi,

Can you detail which GTN Trainer version you've installed?

Also, can you please post the content of the RXP log file? (see User's Manual for file/path).

The currently installed software is detailed here:

SW Version: 6.21.0 TRNG

Reality XP: 2.5.3

RXP Log file? I'm not sure which one it is. There are two. One is the plugin log file and the other is the GTN Simulation log file.

I can enable and disable the plugin to use the GTN650, but whenever I try to do something the screen (of the pluggin) freezes. I can send a video from my phone by e-mail to give an idea of the error.

Hi Pedrozo,

I'm sorry for the late answer but we are working very hard on the new Trainer v6.50 update right now. Most likely your existing GTN v6.21 installation is 'corrupted' or 'altered' in some way, most probably the sys_nand0 file which stores the non-volatile memory of the device.

You might want to try re-installing GTN trainer 6.21, or wait a day or two and get our update compatible with GTN Trainer 6.50 instead?

Ok, I'll wait while I'm going to try reinstall the GTN Trainer. I notice that it works very well alone. I'm refering that outside the game, the GTN functions perfectly. The problem occurs inside the X Plane unfortunally to me. Thank you for your support

Hi, I would like to report again the same error of the program.

I tried to do everything you said before. I installed the GTN Trainer v6.50, I updated the RealityXP Software with the v2.4.0. I tried it on both X Plane 10 and 11.

The result is the same. The screen of the GTN 650 freezes when I try to use the map or to put the frequency of the Nav/Com. No matter what I do, I tried to put the graphics settings in low. This is the content of my Log files:

Quote

18/09/13 11:51:41.568 12868 INFO ] GFX Debug: enabled.

As you can see I enabled Debug by writting DebugValue = 1 and LogTrainer = 1

I hope you can help me with this because the purpuse was to use the GTN 650 inside X Plane to practice some IFR procedures before flying.

Hi,

can you try adding a new setting in the ini file:

AudioDriver = -1

Hi,

yes I'd like more information please:

- ini file can be posted in this discussion

- what is your video card driver version?

- can you check on the dell website for any updates?

- what about the GTN in the default Baron 58 as well?

Thank you for the additional information.

I don't see any particular error which could related to the issue you are reporting in this ini file.

Otherwise there is no gauge selected:

[GTN]
; comma separated list of gauges
gauges =

and the 3D panel rendering section is set to 'not visble':

[GTN_650_1.PANELS]
; display window if true.
visible = false

Besides, is the trainer 6.50 running ok by itself, standalone?

Also, we've just released v2.5.5 update with other corrections, this might prove working better on your system?

The GTN trainer run perfectly by itself, I'm able to handle most of the functions; I don't say all of them because there are some that I didn't try on.

I saw that the command line "gauges =  " is empty

Maybe because I unchecked the GTN 650 after it freezes. I do this before shutting down the simulator.

I will download the new version of the Reality XP to see if there is a miracle. I'm seriously wondering what the problem is..

Thanks for your support.

Hi, v2.5.6 update has been released now. It addresses some specific trainer installation edge-cases and it might help.

Also, it looks like you are running a laptop isn't it?

It has been reported in our forums in the past: the problem might be related to the default value for both Preferred Graphic Processor and OpenGL Rendering GPU.

The default value was (auto select) and the system take the integrated graphic by default (Intel HD), just change both values to NVIDIA processor instead.

You may find similar a setting for AMD cards:
