Should I get the 690B?

Recommended Posts

Big weakness for turbine ga aircraft. Debating between the Carenado Cheyenne III or the 690B.  With Bill's Dash - 10 mods I know the Jetprop 1000 commander will do a little over 300 KIAS.  How does the 690B perform with these mods?

With Bill's mods the 690B is a really nice aircraft and it matches the real world performance figures!

Those mods don't work for me in P3Dv4.3. The clickspot for the AP is being replaced by the parking brakes and the Landing Light switches don't work either.

If somebody knows how the mods could work Ok, please let me know, or if there's a new version already that I surely have missed.

I've e-mailed Bill for that, but got no anwers.

Good point Ed, I haven't upgraded to v4 yet, still using an earlier version of P3D.

I am currently using P3D 3.4xx and have the 690B with Bill's mods installed. Big improvement over the "Stock" Carenado version.

I am in P3Dv4(.3) - anyone else have some issues with Bill's mods mentioned above in 64 bit format?

You will probably find the solution for the landing lights here. This is a mod that Bill did to use a single key for the landing lights using FSUIPC. To revert to the original 3 switches is easy.

Hi, thanks for the advise. Would you need the FSUIPC registered version for this?.

Ed,

If you revert back to the original code as suggested in Olivier's post, FSUIPC is not needed in any form for the landing lights.  The "un-mod" takes you back to only using the mouse. If you want to use a hardware switch for the landing lights, FSUIPC is required however I do not know if an unregistered copy will suffice.  I have always had the registered version.

That's the way it is now, no mods here and the 690B landing lights work well.

Yes, correct. The overall mod is excellent but I had the issue with the landing lights that didn't move at all with the mouse action.

Thanks in advance. Cheers, Ed
