Sorry if it's a recurring thread, but I couldn't find any reasonably new posts on this topic.

I am a very new PPL pilot, starting my IFR training. I have a simple setup at home, based on FSX-SE, to prepare for

the sim classes at my flight school. My flight school uses G1000 for IFR training, so I need an advice on

a decent G1000 add-on for FSX. I have already read quite a bit on this topic and was converging on a Mindstar product.

However, I am still not certain on two things (sorry if this is trivial, I am very new with simming):

 

1) Will Mindstar G1000 allow me to bring multiple bearing pointers (vor, adf, gps) simultaneously on the same RMI indicator?

I know that bare FSX G1000 allows switching between them via MFD softkeys,

but I would like to see them at the same time (just like on a fancy simulator in my school) to practice vor/adf holds.

 

2) Will Mindstar G1000 work without an extra purchase of RealNavData product?

 

Any advice or clarification at a relatively basic level will be very much appreciated!
