interesting and good coverage places exchange

Recommended Posts

I thought it would be a good idea to exchange places we found that have good coverage.
I would like to start the ball rolling

KGFK - it has very busy GA activity, movement is followed on the ground
excellent live ATC coverage.

KDVT, KFFZ- GA activity with poor ground coverage and good life ATC.

KHIO - GA activity with poor ground coverage and good life ATC.

YPJT south of Perth AU - good GA place with moderately OK coverage and good life ATC.
There are very specific published procedures for Jandakot;
https://www.casa.gov.au/sites/g/files/net351/f/_assets/main/pilots/download/jandakot.pdf

In Alaska I enjoy PAMR and PALH - tubes & GA mix activity, movement is followed on the ground.
Area has very specific published procedures;
http://aeronav.faa.gov/afd/13SEP2018/AK_rear_13SEP2018.pdf
, good live ATC and it is fascinating place to fly in its complexity.

You can listen to several different live ATCs, and try to figure out what's going on or even better get yourself into the mix as digital world fades into RL.

I'm hoping that people will share their experiences and good coverage locations worldwide as we enjoy this remarkable piece of software. (TH Nico)
happy landings

I think this is a brilliant idea.

Some of the places I've seen with great coverage:

RJTT - Tokyo Haneda is booming with Airline Traffic. Seeing 10 aircraft on an arc approach to RWY 22 is awesome. Ground traffic is very active. Make sure you read the taxi charts or you will face issues like I have!

VHHH - Hong Kong is also booming with traffic. Airline's are constantly arriving and departing. One of my favorite things about flying here is the cargo traffic. Ton's of it. Especially if you fly at night/evenings.

YSSY - Sydney is very busy most of the time. Lots of dreamliner and A380 traffic.

I'll write more once I think of them.

Cheers.

RJAA (Narita, Japan) has consistently good approach and radar frequencies coupled with high airliner traffic on approach.  I have been flying simulating an actual flight on approach with Live ATC (with Japanese accents) and find it an awesome and rewarding experience.

LEBL (Barcelona) with the LatinVFR add-on.

Great ground traffic, almost all parking positions visited by real live aircraft. A mature airport file is available at my web site.

My last observations (good and bad)

Europe

EDDF - full of AI (air, ground, taxiing for departure/after landing, almost zero disappearances), Also EKCH, EFHK, EGLL, LPPT, LEBL, LEMD, LSZH, LIRF, BIKF

ENGM, EDDM, LFPG - dead places.

LOWW - so/so.

North America.

KORD, KLAX, KATL, KDEN, KDFW, KSEA, KLAS - perfect coverage.
KMIA, KFLL, KDTW - dead places.

KIAD, KBOS - so/so.

Anchorage (PANC)  if you want to see lots of Boeing 747's. There is a good addon airport from SimWings.
