Recommended Posts

Guest WindBeneathMyWings

Fellow Simmers, Hello I just purchased Ground Enviroment Pro. I have been reading through and setting this thing up getting really excited to see the new look. One question I have is how many texture set's can be created I am creating 21 ground's right off the bat. :(. Is it pretty much unlimited? Oh and I am gonna be leaning more towards the create my scenario off of current weather. So do I need to have still yet ground textures created etc. Any suggestions please shoot. I am a major buff for the realistic side of things on the sim. Thanks, Josh

Hi Josh,The amount of sets you can create is unlimited, only limited to your harddisk space. However, I would start with making 3 ground sets for each cloud cover and 20 sky sets for each cloud cover with all texture groups selected. As the sky texture sets are very fast to create, you can make much more of them on the go. This way you can check out the new textures relatively fast. The differences between texture groups like sunny, horizons or Tropical can be pretty spectacular if you let the interface automatically select and match sky and ground texture sets for you, either through the weather control or manual install. One thing to remember is that the sky bitmap, although very small in size, is also very clever: it has special pixels for reflectivity / lumination of aircraft, ground and water, which are changed accordingly to match the cloud/sky cover. This is all explained in the help menu Sky Colorize Screen and is customizable in the Color Adjustment Page in the Sky Color Screen. You can always add more sets later if you so desire, so you can gradually build up your own ground and sky texture set library. Regards,Anthony
