Is it a car or is it a plane...🙂...? (LHC) Bill Ortis's imagination at work...Here are a few screenshots for a short and soothing tour along the west coast of NZ-NI from NZNP (New Plymouth) to NZAA (Auckland International). Thanks for viewing. [LHC/Orbx/REX]

Hi: Flying-wise, it seems no different from a small GA although the gadgetry is rather different and it uses a fun-looking/picturesque GUI.

The LHC site has extensive details (including the manuals) about it - more than what one would expect for such a small aircraft. Frankly, I have only exploited less than 30% of the features. It has several energy management sources (Turbine Fan / Solar Array etc). At least, I didn't have to activate any of those yet...And, about, motor-noise...I had to turn the sound off for this flight (family noise abatement rules...🙂...)..will try it on next time...

Thanks mate,

I went looking for reviews and coud not find any. I have to admit though i has been a long time since I did so. (P3D had yet to be invented.)

Is it a good buy and if possible, after you have had a good play with it can you please pm me with your assessment.?

I think it is a simply beautiful looking aircraft and so very different in the cockpit.

Regards

Tony

Being from that part of the world, I just love those pictures!

Sadly, Lionheart does not seem to have updated this particular aircraft for P3D V4. Also, when I looked on their Web site a little while ago, it didn't seem to be included in their main fleet anymore. 😞

Thanks, Patrick!

Hi Flying Kiwi: This is nearly a year-old post I'd nearly forgotten about. If I recall correctly, I'd purchased this aircraft from the fspilotshop several years ago. But, you seem to be correct that this is not in LHC's current offering. So, it's best if you contact them directly on their website...via Email link...for full details.

And, I'm glad you liked these pictures. Of course, yourself being from that part of the world, these must be mere approximations for you compared to the reality...But, I wish to point out to you that due to Orbx offerings, NZNI/NZSI are "tourist attractions" around here in our virtual world...🙂...I personally like those regions a lot! BTW, you may also wish to enjoy the postings from (kiwi_biplane), who has posted some incredible pictures of NZ in the past....

And, these days, there is no shortage of excellent VFR/GA aircraft to choose from...so, hope, you find one you like to enjoy this scenery yourself...there's nothing like flying over familiar regions with good scenery underneath...in our SIM...

P_7878,

I originally chatted to you in this topic and opted not to purchase.

I do wonder though, how this babe would perform with an RR Merlin engine in lieu of the electric one. It remains an incredible looking aircraft  though.

Sadly I am flying FS2004 less and less now, having adopted XPlane 11. Having said that, I cannot see a future without FS2004 in it for me. An incredible platform and still the best performing with modest hardware and multiple monitors.

Regards

Tony
