Wouldn't EK blocks void the warranty? Rob, when you do this, would like to see some pics or video of the process.

No it shouldn't I had an issue with a 980Ti that was WC and RMAd it to the shop I bought it from no issue at all ( I did put the original cooler back on - as one would). Difficult for most reputable brands to do something like reject a claim on basis of water cooling given the top brands all have had water cooled options themselves on GPUs (eg Poseidon). CPUs also set the precedent because as we know the HEDT editions now don't even come with a cooler.

Gamers Nexus water blocked a 2080ti but due to the power cap in the cards to protect the hardware his conclusion was it`s not worth the cost, he also put fans blowing on the VRMs they also get hot.

And so, my card continues its lonely Journey to me here on the east coast...... To arrive sometime within the next 6 days

My hats off to you. I would have never been patient enough to wait for the card to arrive by Pony Express. I would have jumped on the over-night delivery or two day delivery. I never was good at waiting for Christmas as a kid. LOL Looking forward to hearing how you guys make out.

I wouldn't be surprised if the silly thing arrived covered in postage stickers! 😋

I put up some pictures a few years ago when I was doing my old Titan X cards.

As far as saving original items I use lots and lots of these jars I get from Hobby Lobby:

I have no concerns over warranty.  The components (GPU, VRM, VRAM chips) in a water cooled card runs so much cooler and undergo less heat cycle stress than air cooled cards ... so a water cooled GPU is less likely to ever see a warranty situation.

But I'll certainly do a video showing the conversion from air cooled to water cooled on my GPUs when the EK kits arrive mid October.

Cheers, Rob.

With just one card, I might consider something like this. With two cards, things become a bit more complicated.....
