Hello P3D fans,

OS is Win 10 64bit, SDD 1TB for Sim an 250GB for OS. I m using Nvidia 1080TI 11GB, all drivers are the latest.

If i start P3D the screen goes black and the progress bar should actually be visible. The bar with percent does not come and P3D crashes. I do not crash if I do not start with a stored flight. It does not matter on which Aiport I start.
Have you any idea? One Computer works perfect, with the other I have Problems.

Is there any specialist?

Best Michael

If it crashes while loading, there is a problem with the scenery being loaded.  During the loading, you will see clues as to what is loading and you can investigate based on that.  More information on page 33, AVSIM CTD Guide.

The ntdll error with 0374 indicates a heap corruption.  This could be caused by a bad overclock or you have your settings too high.  One possible way to check your settings is to rename your p3d.cfg to p3d.off, restart P3D and it will be rebuilt.  If sim loads, it was probably high settings and/or a corrupted P3D.cfg.  More possible solutions on page 35 of the AVSIM CTD Guide.

The problem is that I have exactly two identical computers, only one makes problems. Both are overclocked to 5.1 GHz. Could it be?

There is no such thing as two identical computers but understand what you are saying.  The thingy about ntdll errors is that they do not happen 100% of the time all of the time.  You can have an overclocked computer and it will work great for many flights, then, crash.  I have rarely seen anyone with a computer running at 5.1GHz and keeping it stable.  Just too many variables especially when running P3D. In any case, the CTD Guide provides some recommendations I found by searching the Internet to solve these types of crashes.  The ntdll is the faulting module but not necessarily the exact cause of the crash.  Sometimes it will throw a StackHash, then, the next time a ntdll error.  High settings and a high or bad overclock are the most common causes for this error when using P3D.  The first thing I do when I get an ntdll error is to return the BIOS to the Optimal Default settings and that fixes the problem.  Then I work on the overclock once again.  Back in the old FSX days, I would overclock, run several stability tests and then run FSX and FSX would crash.  I personally think FSX/P3D are better applicatons for stability testing than software like AIDA64, IntelBurnTest, Prime95.

After the reboot, at the first start, the error comes, mostly the second start is good. I use wideview 64 and widetraffic 64, if I have deactivated both , it works.

Now its this failure 0xc0000005. Is this another reason?

When you get a crash at startup, it is usually a bad module in one of the two dll.xml's.  I see you found the solution by deactivating wideview and widetraffic.  Are they compatible with P3DV4?  Exception code 0xC0000005 indicates you had a memory access violation.  It is a very common exception code and has nothing to do with P3Dv4.  The ntdll is related to memory too and when you try to load something that is not compatible, it will throw the ntdll as an error.  You have to figure out what is the incompatible module that is stopping you from starting up P3D.  I do not know how you can fix a wideview or widetraffic module error.  I did a search on the Internet for wideview and widetraffic for P3DV4 and maybe a solution can be found there.  I do know that CMeteoXmlx64.dll used by Carenado for their weather radar will sometimes crash P3DV4 depending on the weather.  It creates an ntdll error.  It  really is not needed for Carenado aircraft so I disable it.  It will work if the weather is not too bad.  It will not work if the weather is horrible.

I have the impression that there is a mistake when I start the P3D for the first time. The second start works mostly. According to the manufacturer http://www.wideview.it is the versions for P3Dv4. Wideview and Widetraffic are server-client applications. The modules are installed on both computers. It seems like only the server is having difficulty.
I only use the flight model from ProSim (Homecockpit). I have no other flight model installed. I did not understand the point with CMeteoXmlx64.dll. Should I deactivate something?
Thank you
Best Michael

First of all it is difficult to diagnose an issue like yours because very few members use wideview/widetraffic and/or have no problems whatsoever.  I have been doing this for nearly 7 years and I do not recall an issue with wideview ever.  You state you disabled wideview in the dll.xml and the sim works so it is obvious you have a wideview problem and not sure why you are still seeking assistance for your crash.  You know exactly what is causing the problem - wideview.  Now you need to do a search on the Internet as I suggested above to find a solution.  I would suggest going to the developers to see how your problem can be fixed.  If you do not know how to set up wideview, then I suggest going to our Home Cockpit Forum and asking your questions there or in the P3D Forum.  Here's a link I found on the Internet that might help - https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/512623-wideview/.

Please disregard my comments about CMeteoXmlx64.

Best regards,

Jim
