Recommended Posts

Hello,

Simulator - P3Dv4.3

Airplane - PMDG 737NGX-8

Control System - Saitek X52

C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\Linda.exe 3.0.8.808 (3.0.9)

C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\linda\libs\lib-GSX.lua (LINDA GSX Library  1.2)

All active at LEPA Gate 23-A (the error is not airport depended)

i get this with Linda Tracer

[E] *** LUA Error: ...ed Martin\Prepar3D v4\modules\linda/libs/lib-GSX.lua:282: bad argument #2 to 'find' (string expected, got nil)

Also, is there any description about lib-GSX.lua

Hi Manfred

There was an issue with the 3.0.9 download. Please try again and ensure that you have the latest PMDG737NGX module 4.12 installed.

If problem reoccurs try restarting the LUA engine (<CTL>+<ALT+<R>).

Hello Manfred,

You can download a version 1.3 which should hopefully fix your error:

GSX_lib 1.3

Please try and report back.

I also do not understand your question. Why should you want to set it to true?

GSX ready is just a function in the lib to show you that the GSX library is active for the current plane

And what description do you need? There's some info in the original download thread

Manfred,

I have no idea, sorry.

I tried also the 737-800 without issues …

One last thought: can you read the aircraft.cfg file and tell me what is writen in the line "title"?

As example, the PMDG standard livery reads "title=PMDG 737-800NGX PMDG House"

Does the issue happen with different liveries, other 737 variants or just with one livery?

Please, if so, post the "title" line here.

Would be interested in the "title" anyway, but the GSX ready display is not very important.

You can open the actions.lua in the LINDA aircraft 737 folder and comment the line

 GSX_Ready_Display ()
 to

--  GSX_Ready_Display ()

For LINDA to match with different variants of the same aircraft it is essential that the Sync to Sim window matches the shortest common part of the aircraft's name. In all the cases above, this should be "PMDG 737" and is defined in the file ident.lua.

If you click on Edit button (top line) you should see, Module Name (eg. PMDG 737NGX) and Aircraft Search String (eg. PMDG 737) and a list of the matched a list of the matching aircraft. If the search string has been altered then the reported could occur.

Andrew

i changed C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\linda\aircrafts\PMDG 737-800NGX\ident.lua from simfolder="PMDG 737-800NGX"  to simfolder="PMDG 737"

Nothing has changed the same error with airplan-status cold/dark.

Linda SYNC TO SIM = PMDG 737-800NGX

With Edit button the Aircraft Search String is now "PMDG 737".

I think you're on the wrong track, but why only cold/dark brings the error.

I used

-- LINDA GSX Library  1.2

-- ## sys functions - do not assign###############
-- ##  ###############
-- currently supported planes:
-- PMDG 747, 777, NGX
-- Majestic Dash 8
-- Leonardo Maddog X

Manfred Maier

I think you're on the wrong track, but why only cold/dark brings the error. <<<<<<<< I take back you're right

I have found with FSUIPC 5.14

in lib-GSX.lua 1.2

at line 169 acftname = ipc.readSTR("3D00", 35)  Variable 3D00 value (AsciiZ) = [28]"Boeing 737-85PNGX Air Europa"

so line 173 GSX_PMDG_737 () Never comes into action

How many PMDG 737 modules do you have installed? There should only be one each entitled PMDG 737NGX in the /linda/aircrafts/ and /linda-cfg/aircrafts/. Only PMDG 737NGX should appear in the Sync to Sim box. It sounds like you have more than one. There should be no suffix like -800.

ok, then I know what happened:

You have different titles with your planes:

one reads PMDG 737 and the other one reads Boeing 737.

The original reading should be PMDG 737 etc. So, the liveries you use are not correct from the producer of the liveries.

I will try to make a fix for that case
