Panel for IFR practice

Recommended Posts

Guest chris_kirk

G'day. After a very long haul I am at last in the final stages of my PPL. All that's left is a couple more hours under the foggles then I can start thinking about booking my skills test. What I'm looking for is a panel for a circa 1970 C172 that would be suitable for tracking NDB and VOR radials. The ADF in the FS9 default C172 panel is too inaccurate - its jumpy and too blocky to be of much use. I do have commercial packages that have nice antialiased HSI's and that's the kind of thing I'm looking for... except I dont want an HSI! Specifically I don't want anything that's slaved to the gyro; I either want a fixed compass card on the ADF, or one that is rotated manually. It seems that people who develop really high quality smooth guages prefer to model more modern systems. Does anyone know of a panel (or complete package) that does what I'm looking for? Actually it doesn't really have to be a 172... any good GA single fixed pitch would do.Many thanks,CK
