And very nice it is too. Flies very well, gets good frame rates and even the avionics are pretty good. Yup, that's right, it's a Carenado add-on will pretty good avionics, although obviously you can swap them out for shinier ones if you like though of course. It's actually slightly better than sister company Alabeo's DA42 Twin Star, which if anyone has that, they'll know what a very nice add-on that is too, so this one looks like a bit of a winner for Carenado if you ask me.

Just done a quick preview video of it which is uploading to youtube at the moment, the video includes a brief look at a few other add-ons too, among them: UK2000's EGGP Liverpool Xtreme, Just Flight's Early Access Traffic Global, CSD's RealTrim, HiFi's Active Sky/ASCA, A2A's AccuFeel and Orbx's UK scenery, so if any of those are of interest to anyone, the vid will be worth a look to see how all those fit in with things. Will post a link when it finishes uploading (in approximately an hour or so according to youtube's progress bar).

Anxious to hear about the G1000 in this plane. The Alabeo DA42 has improvements in its G1000 --- wondering what might have been done to this one.

Plane looks great as usual.

Hello, I'm on the fence about getting this one as I've been burned by not asking prior to purchasing other Carenado products in the past. I currently own quite a few.

My question is this.  After inputting a flight plan in the MFD does the CDI in the PFD display the the course to track in the virtual cockpit (not the 2d panel) in gps mode and does it automatically update the track to the next waypoint as the flight plan progresses. I know Carenado products work like this when you use the 2d popup, but I have yet to see this actually work in the VC (with the exception of the modified pnl.cfg for the sr22 G1000 posted by Justice).

As nice as the upcoming Vertx offering appears to be, it appears to use p3d default nav data, and doesn't appear to be airac update-able or procedures capable.  I would actually prefer this one if the G1000 PFD works correctly.

Did a couple of flights today. I really love that one. For me it's the best Carenado/Alabeo plane I ever bought from them. And it's the first Carenado with very good sounds.

Yes, the CDI points the GPS course in the VC (not like in the SR22 where it's not working). I didn't checked the flight plan way Point changing yet, cause I wasn't able to import a fsx flight plan in the G1000 and didn't want to enter it manually today. So I just used "direct to destination" yet.

Thank you, please let me know if it works with a flight plan once you get a chance to check.

Well, the flightplan with display of next waypoint works nice in 2D-window and in the VC. Did a flight from KFOT to KRDD with waypoints YAGER, TOMAD ans LASSN. You can see on my screenshots the legs as well as the active leg and waypoint.

Just what I was looking for.  Thank you @Pidder.

Just pulled the trigger on this one, had it all set up in 20 minutes including FSUIPC assignments and Chaseplane views. Loaded a sid and a quick flight plan super easy. Good G1000 in this one, navigraph data updated easily, smooth performance with my mediocre system. Hope the autopilot modes work as well, but yeah, really happy with this purchase.

I am inclined to wait for the Vertx DA62.  While the Carenado G1000 is vastly improved from earlier versions, and synthetic vision is really nice for GA aircraft, Carenado's avionics and other flight characteristics tend to leave a lot to be desired.  Since Vertx appears to be a remnant of Real Air, I think we can expect a high quality aircraft.  Except that I don't like how Real Air left the community high and dry with no advance warning,  I guess they have kinda sorta remedied that by allowing free downloads of their aircraft.

They didn't and if you have downloaded a "free" version you are not entitled to it.

If you had taken any notice at all, you would have read that the reasons for its demise were personal

and the sort that would have affected anyone.
