The issue is this,  while doing flight plans, a lot of waypoints are not being recognized by the FMC in PMDG 737NGX. I tried updating the navdata but I am not sure whats missing. For example, the ADIVO waypoint is not in database. THis is the main starting point for flight westbound before going to N872 route from EFHK to ESSA. PLease help. I am not able to do a lot of planning and get frustrated.

When you initialize the 737, what is the date range shown for  the Nav database on the FMS? The NGX came with a database that is now several years out of date. I know you mentioned that you tried to update the database - did you install a more current database from either Navigraph or Aerosoft (Nav Data Pro)? Those are subscription services, but you can buy just a one-cycle download which is less expensive than subscribing to an entire year.

Navigraph had a problem earlier this year where their database manager desktop app was not updating PMDG Nav data correctly. That’s why the first step should be to check the database effective date on the FMS. We are currently on cycle 18-10, which is valid through October 10th

Yes, that was the original NGX database that was current at the time the aircraft was first released.

Do be aware that a single-cycle purchase of Nav data from either Aerosoft or Navigraph entitles you to download updates for all supported add-on aircraft and utilities.

If you own any other aircraft that can be updated with new Nav data, this would be a good opportunity to bring them current as well. Utility programs like Active Sky weather, PFPX, TopCat, FlightSim Commander, Little NavMap etc can also be updated.

MOD NOTE: Please try to use descriptive names for thread titles. "PMDG 737NGX" in the NGX subforum is a bit like going into a library and finding a book in the history section called "History." Great - what era/topic/speciality/issue?

I've updated the title to be more appropriate to the content.

++1 These days I find more and more posters in this Forum, particularly, so bereft of plain simple use of the vocabulary to describe an issue they are posting about. Well stated, Kyle.About time too.
