747-8 PFD

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I have been searching  , but I cannot find the answer to my question:

On the PFD (747-8)  "FMC" is shown in white, this happens after de FD is switched on.

Does anyone what this means?

Happy landings !!

When you see FMC in white on the EICAS is simply means you have a message in the FMC.  This will be either something in the scratchpad or perhaps an alternates download.  See FCOM 5.40.2.

The FMC displayed in the PFD indicates the reference source for the lateral and vertical navigation scales (FMC,ILS, etc.).  If there are different sources the format is lateral/vertical for example ILS/FMC.
