No, we're praising them for doing what many developers in this industry do not.  The amount of effort they have put into making things right is among the best I have ever seen.  That's worth noticing.

I partially agree with you, but they've clearly failed the QA test, this stuff should have been functional at the time of the release.

That's not how software development works.  If the requirement to ship were "no bugs" NOTHING would ever ship.

The fact that they haven't swept these bugs under the rug and ignored end user reports, but have continued to release bug fixes and even taken proactive measures to obtain better diagnostic data - that's the absolute best course of action they could have taken under the circumstances.  

While I agree that it is sad many developers do not have this level of commitment to bug fixes, I think that makes QW's actions all the more worthy of attention.

I know how the software development works, I do it for a living. Overlooking a wx radar issues causing CTD's in testing is a pretty major fail imo, but I've said my peace and will not spend anymore time on this. I appreciate the fact they've addressed it and that is all. 🙂

I don't know what your role is in the field of software development, I am not a developer but I work closely with our internal development team as a Systems Administrator and I can attest to the fact of limited resources during internal testing that simply does not allow for all use-cases, environments, and configurations to be reproduced, and thus all bugs discovered prior to release.
