Recommended Posts

Refuge from FSX.

I note that X-Plane strongly advise to download and install the sim to the desktop but I have a large secondary drive waiting for it. Can i just copy and paste the desktop folder there?

TIA

Hello,

X Plane can be installed wherever you want it to be but the only

strong advice is that you don't put it into either C:\Program Files folder

because Windows is too protective of those folders.

The desktop folder is on the C drive.

If you have a large secondary drive, that is by far the best place to put it.

I installed Xplane11 on a secondary drive and have seen no problems with updates, operation or performance of the sim.  Preferred over installing to the desktop, since it is all too easy to delete items from the desktop if you have not had some caffeine first thing in the morning.  If I ever add a solid state drive, that may be my preferred final destination, a drive dedicated to Xplane11 and nothing else.
